I was reading the April issue of MotorTrend yesterday and they had a short article on the 2007 MCS. Somewhere in the article it mentioned that there's a much revised model in 2008. Has anyone else heard of this?
I just bought an 2007 thinking they'll stick with the R56 for a couple more years before the next gen.
I don't think the R56 will be revised for 2008. The 07 is completely different than the 06. They could have been talking about the Clubman, which is a different car than the Cooper - longer, 3 doors, etc - and scheduled to sell in 08.
Right, especially since it's almost half way through the year and we're just now seeing manual Coopers and lots of accessories/options aren't available yet!! I don't even think there'll even be color changes in 2008, but that's just my opinion.
Aside from addressing reported problems and making small refinements to the car (and raising the price by a few hundred bones), I sincerely doubt anything will change for 2008. Maybe a new interior and exterior color option, but not anything mechanical...too soon.
The article is wrong. The writer didn't verify their facts. The article says that 2008 will be the revised model when 2007 was the revised model. They have the correct info on the sidebar for the 2007. Heck they include pictures of the 2006 model when last month they had an article about the all new 07. This is just bad fact checking and an idiot writter.
