New VERT Photos!!!
I was looking on Motoring File and low and behold photos of the new Convertible. I am not a Vert kinda guy(Half Bald white guy who looks outside and gets a sunburn!)but I think its a heck of a good looking car. Even if my opinion is very biased!

Wow, thanks for the great link!! I've got an '07 just-a-MINI cabrio, with the CVT, and I'm very happy to hear they've upgraded the base MINI to the 6-speed automatic option. Also, I do like the appearance of the retracted roll-bars. Now, if I can only find a dealer willing to sell me one at list price!!!

I am a Motoring Advisor in Albuquerque, New Mexico. We sell everything at MSRP, so you pay what the www.miniusa.com website says. We can get the Taxes for your state via a Titling Company, so you will only pay taxes for the state you live in. The only way that you will find a difference between the www.miniusa.com website and the price you see here is if you need to pay for dealer installed options. Like Driving Lamps, Checkerboard Mirror Caps, JCW Strut Tower Brace, Etc. Etc.. If you order from me here in Albuquerque, I will show you the exact price for Dealer Installed options before you choose to order. I am happy to help in any way that I can all you have to do is ask.

Can you share with us any information on the packages and the options that would be included along with MSRP for the actual packages? Also, any ideas when the "Build Your Mini" configurator would be updated to reflect the new 2009s?

The new vert......finally!!!!!!! As much as I will always respect certain elements of the first gen car, it is about time the drop-top catches up w/ the rest of the MINI line....namely, the Prince engine. For Coopers (my area of specialization) the improved low end torque and the superb mpg performance are big winners....but then again you'd expect such things out of a 2nd gen effort. First gen still rocks in the steering department, of course. Anyway, now vert owners can enjoy the benefits the coupe folks have seen for the past two years....it's about time!!!

I don't know the roll bars may work like on a Volvo convert. I went with a friend of mine who was looking at a volvo convert. Interesting drop top with a glass rear window. The salesman told him if the rear wheels leave the ground, it will deploy even with top up, right through the rear glass
I do like the new convertible, the price is a bit steep for me. I'll keep my 07 MC hardtop. Like Gokartride, I really enjoy the MC engine.
I find it interesting in that many who panned the 07 R56, have liked the look on a clubman and convertible. It would appear that many of the traits panned by some on the R56 were foresight for the coming clubman and convertible.

That's one of the things I love about my 05 cabrio. My dash panels and the door ellipses are body color. Since I'm not familiar with the 2nd Gen, do the R56/R55's not have this as an option?
