no numbers, placed my initial downpayment in
august 08. called dealer today, still no confirmation for US MINI cabrios that would be delivered in europe to military customers. most likely 31 March or April... so guess who's getting bored playing with the configurator-that-won't-spec-the-aerokit-with-the-premium-package...?

Yes. I went to my dealer on Sun Jan 11th and put a custom order. I got my production number that same day, and within 48 hours the order was reflected on ol.miniusa.com. It shows exactly how I've configured it, but it's still in 111 status. When I called Mini directly to inquire when it will move to 112 and then 150, I was told it's a Week 6 Production Number, so I have to wait the week of Feb 9th, however my dealer thinks that it might get pushed up earlier than that becuase the order is a custom customer order, and not one of the ones for the dealership to showcase in the showroom or outside...
I have been told that it's a 12 week process for a Mini to arrive to the West Coast once it reached 150 status. So if that's true, then I'd expect my Mini to arrive around mid May... Just in time for late spring...
I was also told that the VIN won't appear on the Owners Lounge until it reaches 150 status and the build process starts. The Owners Lounge only shows me my production number, color selections (both interior and exterior), plus all the options I've selected.

Same here moonjockey, I deposited last week of August 08. My dealer(military sales Europe for USA MINIs) "promises" that "if" he gets a customer allocation for launch date...that mine would be that MINI...an R57. But it's so easy to see how this might actually play out into May as Zanary describes above.
I truly hope not!

I called ASK MINI a few minutes ago, and I was told that many Minis are being pushed back about 2 to 4 weeks. My original Production Number was a Week 7 and it's now a Week 10. They couldn't provide any details as to why it was pushed back, however she did say that if there are production run problems, or a shortage of parts, production numbers are pushed back in the schedule. So a May if not early June date for arrival on the West Coast is most likely what I'm looking at?What about everyone else? Has your R57s also been pushed back yet?

So week 10 is the 1st week of March, and wasn't the launch date Marcy 28th? With approximately 12 days for the build, and another 15 days to arrive on US soil, another 2 or 3 days at the VPC, etc... Are they moving the original launch date into April?

Got a Production # Last SAT JAN 8th
Got a Production # Last SAT JAN 8th....my dealer tells me it will be late March or April for delivery, but it wouldn't shock me if that slipped a bit.
The "track your mini" still says "On Order", the call in # says "Order scheduled for Production"

So, we only have 2.5 weeks to go... Cross our fingers, ours don't get pushed beyond Week 10. Mine was originally a Week 6, but Mini pushed it out along with all the others.

I was also a week 10, and my Mini is already on the shipping vessle in open waters. If you have the VIN handy, visit http://www.2wglobal.com/www/WEP/index.jsp then click on Customer Care menu and click on Track & Trace. Enter your VIN in the Cargo ID field, and click the TRACK button.
Mine was boarded on the TOPEKA on 3/13/09 and departed a day later. The Vessel will dock in NY City first, then Panama and finally California. If you're Mini is a Week 10, then it's a good chance that you're is also on the same vessel bound for American soil.

Update: Dealer called today - and I should get my MINI tomorrow! Funny though, the "Track your mini site" still says "en route" - and for some reason, I cant get the www.2wglobal.com site to work........but a mini cabrio should be in my garage tomorrow!
