Thats great so the old one does fit just slightly tighter that the new one (not a problem) I wonder tho because the old one is tighter does it puch on the rear seats??? Causing a line/mark to form so when removed you are stuck will a mark/line for a while which maybe could become perminent??
I wonder?

Good news!! Brownflyers after market wind deflector does fit into the Rsy, however, not perfectly. The head cushion is bigger in the R57, so the after market will fit snugly, but will not close. I had to tuck the tabs underneath the cushion so it would not look ghettofied. Will probably still order a nre one if the color fit my hot chocolate leather lounge seats!!!!

I have a 2011 as well as a 2006 convertible. I bought a cheap deflector off of ebay for the 2011 (they all seem to be the 2nd gen ones on ebay). I was going to ask if anyone knew if the 2nd gen one would fit into the 1st gens, but I brilliantly deduced that I would be able to answer my own question after it arrived in the mail. Brilliant! I guess everyone gets moments of stupidity.

Here is my thread: Tried the new R57 in the old R52.

I have fit the R57 MINI Cooper Convertible 2009+ wind deflector in a R52 MINI Cooper Convertible (2006-2008). The looks and features are different.
There are two different deflectors for the R57 MINI Convertible and for the R52 MINI Convertible. Once I installed one in my convertible , one of the best simple upgrades to keep the wind out on cool summer nights. Also great on reducing the wind baffle , you can talk to someone sitting next to you.

Checkered version has little storage areas. Both come with travel storage bags.

This. And use the $373 savings to buy two wheels and tires or about 37 burrito meals at Chipotle.
