R57 Correct gears and speed limits

Big difference between a R57 and a R55. Even for spirited driving I've never run the tach much over 5K.
Learning about the manual gear box, some guidelines. RPM, power curve and torque curve numbers are not the same thing. Here's a quick class on optimum shifting. You'll need to refer to the owners manual for the R55.

Also, some clutch rules: KEEP YOUR FOOT OFF THE CLUTCH except to shift.
At stop signs, shift to neutral and FOOT OFF THE CLUTCH.
DO NOT lug the engine, ugly engine damage can ensue.

Thank you all!
I am sorry that I posted a question in Cabrio Talk, since I don't know too much about mini cooper's models and trim.
Over 10 years ago, I drove a manual transmission car. I remember there were 4 gears instead of 6 gears. and I HAD a clutch failure.
You provide me so much valuable experience. I will practice as your advice.
Thanks again,
BS
