R57 Thick oil on front coil spring/strut

Thick oil on front coil spring/strut

Do the struts contain any kind of oil?
I found a puddle, about 6 inches in dia, under my mini , when I jacked it up and looked for a leak, all I saw was the coil spring covered in oil.

They most certainly do have oil........

Yep, blown strut. Thats what they do when bad.
