R58 MINI Coupe Roll Call

I think you guys are right. I think it's a volume issue and slot allocation issue with the dealerships. I ordered this car from the same dealer that I ordered my other two cars. I don't think that had anything to do with it but there are only 3 dealers in the two state area. Two in the Seattle area and one in Portland. All 3 of these dealers are high volume dealers. The 2 dealers in Seattle are owned by the same people though operated independently. With Microsoft, Amazon and Boeing in the area there are a lot of people driving Mini's. When i bought mine in early 2009 you hardly saw any Mini's. Now it seems there on every street corner. (Nobody waves anymore so I guess the evidence is in eh?)
So that certainly seems the most plausible answer. It's a bummer for you all though.

Don't know if it is but it could be that..
I did though order my Coupe from a dealer that opened in April... and mine is already built. :\
EDIT: I should note this is in a city with 2 other MINI dealerships already (This was the 3rd MINI Dealership in Dallas that I put my order in that opened in August)
Mini of Dallas, Moritz MINI and this new one.. MINI of Plano.

not so sure
I ordered at MINI of Peabody. They are the number one dealer in the US! My gut feeling is that something has flagged them and they are being held up. I know that on the MINI USA site you can't order white silver with silver roof but the MINI ordering system took it. I have a sneaking suspicion that is why I am in limbo. ALthough the website says on order and the detail list says silver roof and mirror caps.
So we continue to wait.........
So we continue to wait.........

Awoke this morning to find that the Owner's Lounge had updated to "Awaiting Transport" and ASK MINI now states "Your vehicle is at the port awaiting a shipping vessle. There is no shipping information available at this time."
Guess it's moving along, albeit very slowly. It will probably sit at the port for 10 days now before eventually getitng on the slow boat to China. Ha!

haha you and I are having the exact same updates every day. Mine has done the same as of this morning.
Guess our boat will be going to China together! :P

I asume that you guys simply ordered your MINIs from "low volume" dealerships that weren't able to obtain earlier production slots is all. Kind of stinks, but I suppose that MINI can only make so many Coupes in the begining and so "high volume" dealerships most likely get priority production slots. I feel for you guys.

Owners Lounge is still looking but have confirmation ours in at the port waiting for a boat now. Still betting the Asian King on the 27th though with PatM's R58 floating across on the Grand Venus that I never saw on the WW site while looking up port info that there is a chance of a earlier boat.
Would love it if MINI could give more insight into the process like the BMW order process. They give much more insight to the manufacturing process though about the same for the rest of the process.
Read the following link for a example of the BMW process.

Looks like many folks are moving along quite well!! Congrats to all!!
Just got an email from my MA that mine entered the production process today, although "ASK MINI" still states scheduled. MA said completion is scheduled for 9/30.
Having difficulties finding NYK lines shipping schedule from Southampton to Port Hueneme after Sept. 30. However if mine rides on WW line, it looks like the first cruise departs on Oct 11 via the Asian Vision, arriving Port Hueneme on November 2. Guess my coupe will be partying at the Southamption port for a while

Last night when I checked WWL still no booking info for mine. Just called ASKMINI to see if they had any vessel infor, and the automated system reverted back to the status from early last week and said "in paint shop, estimated completion 9/16". On Friday the 16th it was in transit to port and since Monday OL has shown at port awating transport. Guess ASKMINI has some issues.

TheOfficeMavens is done..
His is sitting next to mine at the port.

Getting pretty frustrated here. The automated system says production complete waiting to be released to carrier. However it has been saying that since 9/17. Production completed on 9/16. Now when I call and talk to a rep, they say assembly has been completed and it is in Final QA. WTH is going on with Mini? Are they doing it on purpose for some sick sense of enjoyment? Get my Coupe to the port so it can get on the next boat to PH. Grrrrr.... Maybe I just need to stop tracking until October. Maybe by then I will be out of final QA or whatever status my coupe is really in.... bah....

Mine was in QC for about 4 days it seems. Also Owners Lounge is at least 24 or more hours out of date. I would say that your car is likely to transport in the next day or two. From what I am seeing I have no doubt that you will be on the Asian King on 9/27 with our Coupe. That is the next boat for WW.

Probably should add mschiml to your list. He is a good friend of mine and he ordered a few weeks earlier then I did. I would think he is in the next group. I just wonder if I will be a bit later then group 2. My MA keeps telling me I will have a Nov build. Hope he is mistaken!

My MA tells me it awaiting production when ASKMINI says it's with the carrier heading to port, so don't take much stock in what they say.
I have theory BTW on why they sat in Oxford - Liability. Since there is a WEst Coast boat on the 24th, no point in having a car sitting in a port until they could actually load it, right?

Well my car is at the port. I've confirmed with the automated phone line, a real person on the phone line, Owners Lounge, and my MA.
No boat assignment so I'm guessing I will be on the boat going to NYC, Baltimore, SC, Georgia on the 24th. Unfortunately I'm the last stop and it is a 2 day longer voyage then the boat that actually comes in on the 26th. Pretty crazy.
If they only sent my car to the damn port last weekend, I would have made the AIDA and received my car a whole 2 weeks earlier.
