Confirmed that Jack S. has been physically loaded onto the Asian King. Time to relax, sit back and have a cold one. Not much to worry about for the next three weeks. Just enjoy some football and get the yard ready for the winter.

 

I will feel better once the Asian King rolls from the dock in a couple of hours lol, Have one friend that told me once their car got loaded and then unloaded but he has not heard anyone report that recently.

What does "scheduled for daily production pack" mean? Does that mean scheduled for production?

@Cred have seen that before on one of my buddies BMW. The MA and BMWUSA had no idea, after a bunch of digging basically turned out to mean that all the parts for the car were staged and it was ready to be scheduled for production. In his case it was caused by his config and a component that was on back order. Would be interesting to know what caused this delay for you for sure!

Away from the dock and on its way down the channel. Long wait begins but better than sitting dockside any day. Pulling for all the remaining west coast people to nail the 10/11 ship, sorry that it did not work out for you on this one. Believe me after my spirited test drive yesterday I can confirm its more than worth the wait.

Says the guy who has his Coupe hitting the west coast shores 8 days ahead of us . Fife is getting in two more Coupes, yesterday they had a LB/Blk JCW, and a CR/Slvr S (automatic (gag)). They are getting in a Blk/Wht S soon. Not sure about the 4th. Give them a call and they can arrange a drive for you to experience. Seeing the car in person was fantastic too.

Yup, your still killing me though. I have already made arrangements for a test drive. I have it scheduled for this Saturday at high noon. I will take copious notes and present a report that evening for everyones viewing pleasure. I doubt that I will take pictures. I think everyone has seen the car enough. I think the driving experience and ergonomics are the things that will make the difference now. You either like the looks of the car or you don't.

I like the looks of the car and the only thing that could sour me now is that the seating position is not comfortable for me or the drive in some way does not agree with me. If any of those things happen I will bail on the car. But judging from all the feedback that I have seen here and elsewhere regarding the driving experience of the car I doubt that will happen. Additionally I am not giraffe tall so the vision aspect of the car should not be a bother. While I am getting old I think I can still get in and out of the car without killing myself. My GTO is pretty low and I have no problem whatsoever getting in and out of my MCS. (5 years from now I may may be singing a different tune.)

So all this still does not change the fact that your killing me man. The ship is supposed to arrive the 11th of October in PH but that seems like a bloody lifetime right now.

 

I'm assuming you drove the JCW? How does it feel power wise compared to the standard MCS?

 

I am going to be writing up a short initial review and will share but can say compared to our R53 06 MCS that it feels like a much sportier car. While I am a addict of a suprercharger whine as it gives a audio track that no turbo will ever match. The Coupe like the R56 is much more refined than the R53 of course. The seating positions feels simular to the R53 but somehow even better. At 5'10" getting in and out of the car was simple and while I felt like the cabin wraps the occupants it feels just like a coupe. We took the JCW for a drive and can say hands down that performance wise its very similar to the GP but each goes about it in its own way. Will try to get my write up loaded before the weekend and look forward to yours too. Enjoying everybody's views as each brings insights and considerations I did not think about before.

 

I will be doing a test drive of an S on Saturday. Taking my HD camera and my GoPro HD. Any particular things you want to see? No, not doing reverse doughnuts in the parking lot

Stopped by my dealer tonight and they checked and show my coupe is on the Endurance that sailed from Southampton on Monday 9/26. WWL still doesn't show any records for my vin however.

Looks like my coupe will arrive at my dealer while I am at BMWCCA Oktoberfest, which is what I thought might happen.

 

That is 2 coupes coming to the Chicago area in the next weeks.
