I have to say that the MINI Owners lounge is a pretty miserable tool. Not enough resolution into the process and even worse more of a hindrance to actual updates on the car than a help. Was pretty amazed that during my build process AskMINI, the Owners Lounge, and my MA all had different info at the same time. To me this speaks of multiple databases that this info is being pulled from. Seems like BMW/MINI really has deep enough pockets to really take the custom order process and running with it.

Would not worry to much if you guys see some odd bounces to your production status. Our coupe is shown as still being at the port in both the owners lounge and askmini. I know this is not the case though as WW shows it was booked and loaded on the boat before it took off.

I wonder how many other manufacturers have a fully customizable ordering process like Mini with the same or greater number of choices?

I wonder of those that have similar ordering processes how many of those have any insight into the ordering process and if so how does it compare to Mini?

I wonder if this is some great plan by Mini to keep people talking about there cars and giving them something to do while they are waiting for their car to be produced and shipped.

I wonder if they were to make the ordering and waiting process completely visible to all who ordered, how much it would add to the price of a car?

I wonder if we have any answers to any of these wonders?

I'm guessing the 'California Highway' which is a K-Line ship is what you are on.

Expected to get to Brunswick, GA on October 5th.

 

JBS, don't worry about that. Same thing happend to me. Car was already at port and one day it said in paint shop.

 

....and if I get lucky, one of these days I might get a build number and date....

A lot of variables but think the standard at most VDC's is usually 2-3 days but can stretch longer. Thinking that we might be a little lucky as MINI's inventory dropped quite low so maybe all our Coupes might escape quicker. Just about ever case I know of longer stays is them fixing issues from the shipping (ie damage).

 

I hope it is just 2-3 days and then on the truck to Dallas. ski

 

My guess is that it will take 10 days after it gets to Georgia to get to Dallas and into our hands.

So like October 15thish.

 

That is a long wait but I guess there is nothing we can do about it. ski

 

Looks like my ship the Grand Venus is approaching the Panama Canal. Yes.

It's getting closer. Hopefully it will get through quickly and hustle it on up the coast.

Very jealous of you all heh. I still have the earliest production number of any of use and my boat does not even get in until the 19th so guessing I will be near the last week of October. Still very cool Pezradar, orange33, and PatM
