My black/silver finally made it to the port. Looks like the next cruise to California will be October 11 via the Asian Vision with arrival to the VDC November 2. Going to be a long month, but as they say....half the fun is in the anticipation!

 

MINI USA replied to my question on Facebook and said my Coupe is scheduled for production this week. I hope so, that's two weeks early from the week 42 I was given.

Just got back from talking with MA the the dealer. They also pulled the JW out of the showroom and gave us the keys to drive! WOW, makes it so hard to wait now!

MA said it could go to paint today or tomorrow and scheduled to enter Assembly 10/7/2011.

Finally got a call from the Sales Manger today (order and deposit taken on 27 July!). He says, MINI USA finally "forced" a build number. He also said it could be built in the "next few days." I will believe that when I see it. Entered the build number on the spreadsheet.

Good for you. I can't believe it took that long to get a production number. Wow!!

 

That too way to long. Seems like MINI had some sort of a hickup after the first production run.

 

I agree jdurdick. Had to have some kind of issue. It sure is frustration though for those it happens too.

I wonder if MINI USA did the same for me when I asked them on Facebook why mine was taking so long. It is supposed to be week 42 (week after next) but now they say it's scheduled for this week.

 

Just heard from my MA today that mine is in production he even sent me the VIN as proof. Very excited!!! I was originally scheduled for week 36 but am happy it is underway. It feels real again and I hope to have it in 3 to 4 weeks. I am east coast in Atlanta so should be faster delivery (fingers crossed). Hopefully the rest of us that have been delayed get moving again.

Good looking order lil' red

I am waiting for the Asian King ship to make appearance on Marine Traffic again soon. Due into Panama on the 10th. Shoud be about 2/3rd of the way to there now as its last tracking point was leaving the Celtic Sea 6d, 11h 54min 34s ago heh. Then its the 9 day wait to get through the canal and up to Port Hueneme VDC. Long process but should be very worthwhile.

 

I spotted my ship on a friday lurking outside the panama canal. The next day when I looked it was through and heading north. The 11th is the anticipated landing date at PH. Sure would be nice if it was a day early. Last time through this process both of our cars were a day late. Maybe the tide has changed.

 

FYI: The people on the roll call list in bold are those who have gotten their Coupes.

Well the ELEKTRA is on it's way to New York, and I've been watching it slowly move along on the AIS tracking site (which is quite excellent by the way!)

it went out of range on the 3rd, and probably won't be heard from 'til it gets closer! I'd like to say the suspense ISN'T killing me, but it IS!!

I'm keeping myself occupied making coupe playlists and trying to figure out exactly what I want my front GB plate to say. My current MCS is named "grey matter" since it's dark grey, but I haven't nailed down the coupe's name yet!

Oh well, more to keep me distracted!!

My wife place her order on August 25. Production was reported as complete on September 29th and the latest update from ASKMINI indicates the car, she is calling Victor, is awaiting assignment to a ship at Southampton.
