Do you think the strut brace will really do much on the coupe since it already has such a stiff chassis? I spoke with Way about it a while back and he told me to drive it for a while and then see if need some increased stiffness. But he cautioned me that it might not need to much at all.
I look at this like this, anything that helps to keep those front posts from moving will help. The new brace is behind the drivers position. I think there are others as well but can't recall where. But anything that helps to keep the car stiff is a plus. I think I got a good price on the strut installed by the dealer so I figured it was money well spent. Not sure if there will be a huge difference but for the money what the heck.
If it was a substantial amount of money I probably would wait but it's not.
Probably didn't help you much but that was my reasoning.
The install price is going to be not discounted in the least. I could have used the funds for a much better suspension but trying to keep this car stock with MINI accessories. Will be doing a couple of upgrades but the JCW suspension is fine for what I am doing with the car.
If dealer won't agree on a install discount I may ask for parts deal and then take to another shop for install. I've already mentioned to the guy that preps my M coupe.
Bob, yes I have driven all those. My greatest number of days are at Gingerman. This year six days at Autobahn Country Club, plus one at Blackhawk and three at Putnam. Heading to Barber next week for BMWCCA Oktoberfest. Doing the track on Wednesday and looking forward to seeing Barber first hand.
When I get my coupe I may want to tag along for a track day or two. I was just at the Autobahn Country Club last week and thinking about doing the Touring Membership next year. I have a couple of friends who are members there and they love it.
I don't want to argue, but when I ordered the 7HN JCW Works package, the aero kit shows on my Design MSRP sheet my MA sent me, and is not being installed at the dealer or the port with my other JCW 'accessories'.
No argument here, my MA called to day to let me know they can do Aero kit at the factory for a S and to not worry about the configurater.
It bothered me that my graphic from MINI USA didn't match what my Coupe will look like, so I finally Photoshopped a chrome grille surround and added Black Jack mirror caps. The only thing missing is the JCW badge in the lower grille but I can't find any way to get that to show in the Configurator.
Should be cool to see the pic of yours Pezradar, while the SO is not my cup of tea should be cool to see one.
Glad you got more info Cred.
Looking forward to our ship finally hitting the canal tomorrow. Seems like a lifetime to get it hear but really is giving me time to get all the parts and pieces together for it.
PezRadar.... lucky you. I am looking forward to seeing pics of another one as it rolls off the truck. The orange will be GREAT! Can't wait to see it. Have fun tomorrow or Tuesday w/ your new toy.
Pez, Very excited to see pics of your car. I think it is going to be one of my favortite color combinations.
