I told Barry @ dinner tonight that you had said you expected someone, maybe even me, to show up at MM7 with a new MINI. When you said that, I about choked on my tongue!!!

The funnier part, James, is that I originally ordered Midnight Black, so we would've been darn near twins. Although I was going with a black roof/mirrors, and wheels, and planning to black out everything. Then I remembered how much I hate washing cars & changed colors at the last minute. I should not legally be allowed to own a black car.

Anyhow... I am very much looking forward to seeing your Coupé in person very, very soon. Maybe once you've had a chance to debut your Coupé, I'll come crash a MOO meet. I haven't done that in years.

 

Bill, I have added you to the roll call list now. Since it is a list of owners, I didn't think it proper to add an anonymous person, but your Coupe is there now.

You traded the Mazda? (I haven't been on SSM this evening.)

My Coupe should arrive in 3-4 weeks so we'll have to find an upcoming meet to go to.

 

Correct. Ferman MINI of Tampa Bay now has a very well maintained 2009 Mazdaspeed3 Sport in their possession. Loved that car, but the Coupé just called out to me.

No worries on the roll call delay. I figured as much, and totally understand the logic.

Looking forward to a lot more delivery days in this forum, with plenty of pics. MINI pr0n rocks.

 

Do you think it is going it will get here that quick? I hope mine arrives that fast too. I have been trying to project what ship my coupe might get on. I have way to much time on my hands.

 

Nice car Billthecat. I like that color real well. Wise decision changing the color at the last minute. Lots of work keeping black looking real good. Seems you almost have to have a holster with a random orbiter in it.

My car is getting closer. The ship has left the port in PH and is steaming toward Long Beach now. I suspect they will do whatever they have to do at the VDC and hopefully it will hitch a ride north in short order.

I hope to take delivery sometime next week. I have it scheduled for the 22nd but hopefully it will be sooner then that.

Thanks for the kind words, Pat. I think LB is shaping up to pretty much be the "generic" color for this model, but I also think it just looks good. All that means is that I have a heftier challenge as I "You-ify" my Coupé, and I believe that I am up to that challenge!!!

As much as I stressed and tortured myself as I waited for my Coupé to arrive here on the East Coast, I cannot imagine the added travel time for a West Coast delivery. You have my sympathies. And if you make it to delivery day without committing any significant crimes, self mutilation, etc., you also have my admiration.

Here's to the West Coast VDC working in overdrive to get those Coupés out into the wild!

 

Congrats! I'm crazy about my LB/S combo. Layers of Prima Epic and Banana Gloss have it shining and protected for the east coast winter. A small California duster is perfect for cleaning the Twin Spoke wheels....like them a lot. Today I get to see how it handles on wet roads. Motor on!

 

Very cool. I am going to go for Laguna Green/black too. But justaCoupe. I tried to resist but I think I can't resist any longer...

I have to admit that Laguna Green s growing on me. I think a coupe will look pretty nice.

 

I had read that elsewhere. I think the uniqueness over BRG will be worth the $500 to me in the end. I guess that $750 discount they're offering will take care of it. :-)

Grats. I was on California Highway. K-Line ships move faster than the WWL ships by a day or so. You should be proud to be on it

 

I've been trying to not micro watch the progress of my Coupe, I guess it's been a couple days or so since I checked, today the Owner's Lounge says AWAITING TRANSPORT, YAY!!! So I guess it'll be at the dealer in Indianapolis in early Nov?

 

You placed your order the day before I did and mine hasn't budged from ordered status... I AM JEALOUS Time to start harassing my dealership...

 

I was "Scheduled for Production" for what seemed like a long time. I don't know why the difference. Maybe they are waiting for enough Laguna orders to mix up a batch of paint?
