R58 MINI Coupe Roll Call
#1301
For those of you looking at the Production Stats sheet and wondering why it looked strange. There were some "errors" made. Anyway I had to roll back the sheet to Jan 29, 2012 to repair the error so any changes made after that date are lost. Sorry for any problems caused. The sort function seems to cause problems in that when you use it it can't be changed back.
I never said this was a perfect solution but it is what we have. No harm no foul. Now get back in there and start tracking and adding. As for me I think I will go out for another drive in NAPALM. Great to see everyone using the sheet out of it.
From one of the night shots on my flicker here.

I sort of placed my order today...I had settled on exactly what I wanted which included the JCW package with the Challenge Spokes. Apparently there are supply issues with those wheels and I don't really like the other option for the package - Conical Spoke. The Challenge Spokes just look so much more aggressive.
That one little change threw a big wrench in my plans. Now I'm trying to decide if I want to settle for the Conical Spokes or rethink my build a bit. Going back into the dealer tomorrow to try to figure it out.

OK. Got everything settled. My Coupe was ordered today. I decided to scrap the JCW Package and go with the Sport Package. It actually saved me a good chunk of money so I was able to get some wheels I'm very happy with, add the Auto AC, and still pay less than my previous build. I'm very happy. Now the wait begins...
Mini Cooper Coupe S
Lightning Blue/Silver roof
Silver Sport Stripes
17" Web Spoke Wheels
White Turn Signals
Black Headlamp Housing
Standard Leatherette Seats
Striped Alloy dash surface
Technology Package (No Nav)
Sport Package
Sport Suspension
Comfort Access
Auto AC

Finally
After 2 production delays and 5 months of agonizing wait I finally took delivery last week. I was a little reluctant coming from an 07 335i, but I can say now my fears are gone. It is a very fun car to drive on a daily basis.

I am currently at 600 miles so I really haven't hit it hard, but so far it is very sweet and I am happy with the clutch feel and shift travel.
I added the black surround at the dealership... I am also going to black out a few more pieces such as the scuttles, belt line, and carbon fiber the rear apron and hatch handle. I tinted the car with 20% and that made a huge difference in appearance to me as well.
I am 44 and modding a car... MINIs make you do crazy things!

After two months and 1400 miles of ownership, I have experienced a few quarks with my coupe. Just wondering if anyone else has had these minor problems. #1 seat heater too hot-even on low.#2 Wind noise from either windows or windshield surround-no leaks. #3 boot hatch needs adjustment. #4 Steering of car wanders (I have non runflat tires) #5 Sirius radio forgets locked in stations but they return in a few days and that is just weird. When the loss happens, the headlights come on during the day and go off when the memory stations are remembered.
Other than that, I love my Coupe

Nothing wrong with modding a car at 44 but your right, MINI's will do that to you and it's fun as Hell!!

Got my production number today. Ended up having to change my wheels, Web Spoke are no longer available. I'll probably end up going aftermarket anyway. This is going to be a long wait...
My wife has a 2006 justa and when she ordered I thought that felt like a long time. This is my first Mini and I get the feeling it's going to be a brutal wait. I may have to take up an extra hobby.

Finally picked mine up today. First time really driving a manual and made it home 20+ miles without any traffic embarrassments. Only thing makes me uncomfortable is that everyone keeps staring and pointing and well, you're all probably used it it by now.
Pics in my garage. I am not good with a camera but hope to have much better ones after I got a few more mods done.
Again, I can't thank everyone enough for sharing their experiences about the r58. I learn something new everyday from all of you. Maybe one day I'll be able to share my own.

Congrats to everyone who's taken delivery of their Coupes! I've been away for a bit - sorry about the delayed congrats!
I took delivery of Moxie on February 19th. I just hit 1K miles on her last night. I wish I'd taken a picture of the odometer when it read 13 miles. *sigh* (*EDIT: Bah - sorry... I forgot I'd already posted her pic and that she was home on a different thread back in Feb.)
So here's her pic. Keysersozeh, I think you'll appreciate her "no stripes" look.

By the way... I'm the only one (that I know of) here in Gainesville, FL with a Coupe. I wish Moxie was getting all the head-turns everyone else is getting. :\ I've had a couple of people ask about her (and by that, I mean, literally - two). For the most part, I seem to be the only person impressed. o_O
...But at least I'm grinning! :D
