Question JCW color combo for a "S", is it possible?

At the end of the year I'm likely to order a S coupe, it'll be my first MINI. Of the 3 coupe versions the S is just right for me, the JCW is out of the question, because of cost and temptation.

I love the silver body + red roof combination, just the right amount of class and flash. And I live on a 1/mile gravel drive way, hate washing cars, the dust on silver almost disapears.

In the configuration tool that color combo is only available with the JCW, what is the possibility of getting it for an S? The silver body is a $500 option, another $500 or so for the red roof would be ok, but I don't want to get into several thousand $ for paint.

Thank you.

Alas, the red roof is specific to the JCW Coupe. There is no way to get it without ordering a full JCW I'm afraid.

Short answer - Nope. Longer one, get a body shop to paint it for you. The wing mirrors are just covers, so they can be replaced easily.

I feel your pain. I also want that Silver/Red color combo, but am going S (again) for the automatic trans. Next best for me is Red/Silver, with red colorline and door rings. I just wish I could get black seats with red stitching.

Thanks TheOfficeMaven and TheGeekGuy. Dang! I'll still ask the dealer, I just won't be hoping. Hmm, I could get the silver body, back top, I plan on keeping the Coupe a long time, after a year or so I could have the top painted red.

Question: What is a fair price to have the top painted, new mirror covers etc?

The other colors I'm thinking of are red, blue, or gray, all with a silver roof, and maybe the sport stripes. I'll need to see the colors at the dealer, even if on other models. Some colors are hard to get a feel for in pictures.

Yeah TheBigNewt, it isn't as if we want a color MINI doesn't use, or only on Clubmans lol. I'll get a fairly plain interior, I don't like stuff that distracts the eye from looking out the windows. I'd get a black speedo etc. if I could.

@v2Bob,

We would have liked to of had WS with a red top as well. However, since our Coupe will mainly be my wife's daily driver, there was no sense in us paying extra for a JCW (as she wouldn't notice too much of a difference performance wise). Therefore, we settled on a WS "S" Coupe with a black top, sport stripes, and the JCW Package. I think it will still look really good.

BTW, we were also interested in Spice Orange as well, but it's the only color that's not available with the JCW Package on an "S" Coupe. Strange as you can get a JCW Coupe in Spice Orange, so it doesn't make much sense to me???

Thanks for the idea, I've seen wrapping mentioned on the forum, but really don't know anything about it.

How well would wrapping work around the shape of the top spoiler/wing? How long does it last in weather etc? Cost?

PS: why is "MINI" in all CAPS? lol, I could ask in the general forum, but while here...

"Mini" refers to the old original Minis. "MINI" refers to the newer generation of MINIs.

At first I wanted a white roof, but now I'm glad MINI chose Silver instead. I just wished MINI had black bonnet stripes with silver edges instead of white edges.

I've never liked the color red, so a Chili Red roof was never a consideration for my JCW Coupe. I'd rather do without the red stitching in the JCW interior. The brakes I can live with.
