The coupe turns heads!

During my six days of driving it my coupe has been turning some heads. A couple guys have craned their necks out their car window. Others simply gawk and I smile as their heads rotate. While waiting for a traffic light one guy stopped in the lane next to me took a photo with his iphone. When I pulled into a parking space at my health club a very attractive woman (my first thought was....too bad I'm married) motioned for my attention wanting to to hear about it. She ended up inside the coupe with me and asked all kinds of questions. A neighbor stopped me as I passed his house to tell how much he liked it's looks. I think you can all look forward to a similar routine.

Sounds like it turns heads just as much as when the new MINIs started in the early 2000s

Awesome

I know I'll get flamed for this, but......

I would expect that people turned and stared at the elephant man too whenever he was out in public...

There are several new models of cars out that I just don't understand the design queues, with the Coupe being but one... Perhaps it's just that ugly is now 'in'...

I think you are highly in the minority here...the coupe is a very sexy car! Only reason I didn't get one is because my trade in was devaluing day by day and I needed to get a new car when I did. I would have gladly waited tho. Next might very well be a Coupe S.

People just want something different these days, in a bleak automotive landscape where most Asian cars look alike, the Mini Coupe just stands out as something exciting. That was one reason I dumped my Lexus and went back to my Mini, in the end the Lexus was just another boring Japanese car.

@Keyser_Soze......It's true that beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. However, no one can ever rationally argue the superiority of the Coupe's driving performance vs. the R56. Go take a look at it in person and drive one.....it might start to look better! I happen to think (as do most) that it's a strikingly good looking machine. Some people though are slow to take to something that's way ahead of the curve.

If MINI had made the roof on the Coupe like every coupe out there, people would have complained. So they did something different and in keeping with the character of the brand. Anything that is unique is polarizing.

lol

You are living in my shoes. I had a R56 2007 MCS.. now I have a MazdaSpeed3 and it is killing me how I feel like every other "3" on the road even the 'non Speed' variants.

So now I am going back to a MINI and into a Coupe S. Should be here this week!

Pez, you won't see many other cars with a color similar to yours either ;-)

I thought MINIs were a little ugly until I drove my R50 and got hooked. Getting the full experience can definitely alter perception! As for the coupe, I didn't like the look of the rear end, but it must look better with the spoiler up. Planning on test driving the Coupe S my dealer has soon.

I have my mini for a month now and have had many compliments. Just yesterday at the drug store, I was getting in my car and a woman came up and said she has always loved the mini's and has never got to see the inside and If I mind if she peaks inside. I am loving my car.

Love the coupe but I am planning on getting the JCW Roadster in 2013. Right now I'll I'm content with getting the Countryman All4.

I live at 8000 feet, lots of snow, and I didn't want to make the jump from 4 wheel drive to front wheel drive. But I might have to change my mind for the Roadster.

How anyone can call the Coupe ugly is beyond me?

Some cars are just polarizing. Embrace diversity! If the Bland Police had their way, we'd all be driving Toyota Avalons.

Not really flaming, but this is a bit harsh. Everyone is entitled to their opinion though. I think the coupe is hot, but I'm waiting for my MCS to get here because I thought I would feel a little "closed in" with just two seats. The back seat in the R56 isn't all that useful, but it makes me feel better. Styling-wise, though, I would have gotten the coupe and the roadster looks VERY hot!

I just wish I could mute 2009r56jcw's trolling. We get it R56, you don't care for the look of the coupe. You have made it perfectly clear in the 15 other coupe threads in which you have felt the need to post in. Your choice but also your loss.

Hopefully I don't bring down the wrath of gray raven with this post. :P

All cars have the ability to turn heads.. I know my MINI does all the time just because of my mods, wheels and ride height.

I personally agree that the coupe is over rated.
