Ohhhh the Color
Hi guys. I'm new to the forum and very interested in getting the spectacular new 2012 JCW coupe (current DS/BLK '06 MCS). I've had no problems deciding on the options (HK, Auto AC, BLK Headlight Housing, Chrome Line Interior, Piano BLK Dash, Center AR, White TS, Leather Lounge, Xenon HL, 17 Challenge Spoke BLK, and Mini Connected +Nav).
The problem has been deciding on the exterior color combination. For me, the JCW coupe looks best with a black roof and black mirrors - it seems to make the roof look less like an isolated (unattached, i.e., floating) feature of the car. Unlike my choice for the '06 MCS (which was made to be more refined) I also feel that the nature of the JCW coupe is reflected better in primary colors. This has left me with 3 choices: MB with red/blk stripes (although here I prefer chrome rather than red mirrors), CR with blk/red stripes and PW with blk/white stripes.
I have seen a few photos of all 3 and the PW combination at the dealer. Yet, depending on the light source (showroom, outside, bright sunlight or overcast) I am changing my mind all the time. I fully realize this is entirely a subjective and personal decision. Nevertheless, if you don't think this is a stupid and inappropriate post, I would really appreciate some thoughts, comments, rationale to help me with this current roadblock - it's driving me nuts!!!!!
Thanks
Craig

I too feel your pain and although I understand your color contrast thoughts I tend to like the red roof/mirror/stripes on the JCW models. It's one of the things that sets a JCW apart since it's the only model you can get that particular color combo on.
It's all opinion really so in the end go with what strikes you. The good news is all the colors are great together I think so you can't go wrong.
I have to say, I saw a MB JCW with red roof/mirrors and red stripes and it was badass looking!
Lots of help that was I know, sorry!

My black over spice orange is due at the port on 11/30 and I love the fact that there are so few of them around. My wife says there's a reason for that, but I love it. The color was the decision I anguished over the least. It was SO from the start! A fun car should have a fun color. Now, if the yellow was still available for MCS's, I would have had a dilemma! As for the op's question, there was a picture on here resently of an all black coupe with silver stripes and it was awesome! Black over black really takes the sort of disconnected look of the roof away entirely.

Thanks everyone for all your suggestions. I think I have to see the color combinations in person whenever I can to make a final decision.https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...s/thumb-up.gif

I agree with you guys on the spice orange. In fact it is the ONLY orange I've ever seen that I would not only put on a car but it's just plain cool looking! Having said that I went with eclipse grey with a CR roof/mirror/stripe combo because I love the deep charcoal gun metal look and I've never had a car that color nor have I seen any Mini's in the area with that combo. The red screams speed to me. I think half the reason I love Mini's is that separate roof to body color. It sets them apart from everything on the road and can't help but look sporty.
