Let me start that I am on my third MINI. I had a 03 MCS which I modified and raced. I traded that for a loaded 06 JCW. And last November I traded that for a Coupe S, pepper white/black, black wheels, sports pack, sport suspension.

After 5K miles or so, here are my thoughts on the car: I like the gas mileage, the ride and the handling over the 06 JCW. I like the power.

The visibility out sucks, but I knew that going in. (Wouldn't it be cool if the spoilers were see-though?)

Then there are silly things (the spoiler switch, the sport switch, an indicator for wipers on)

But then there are things that are plain annoying:

- two speedometers but only one sided-boot light.

- no temp gauge.

- no passenger grab-handle, awkward seat-belt position and heater fan that's strong, but too loud at its slowest setting (I realize all these are important for the Roadster, but not for the Coupe.)

- The chrome-line interior which is reflecting in the side mirrors

- The plastic boot cover that's squeaking (until I fixed it with black tape)

- Wind noise around the doors, by the corner of the glass. (The dealer told me MINI will fix the gap in the moulding if enough owners complain.)

Believe me, I love the car. I just wish it was what it could be.
