Very UPSET with my Mini Dealer

Yep I am upset. Here is what happened.

My wife goes in to have her 2011 Country Man's Oil and Filter changed this past Saturday. Just routine maintenance. While she was there waiting she asked our sales person to test drive the new coupe. It just so happens they had the exact color and options on the one sitting on the showroom. Five hours later she comes home in a brand new 2012 Coupe S Now if you knew my wife you would be amazed she did such an impulsive thing. She is very conservative when it comes to money and doesn't want to spend her money on luxury items like this unless its mine

All joking aside my wife wanted a coupe when we bought the country man in august. Of course they didn't have them in then and she always talked about how she loved the new coupe but with me buying a 2011 cabrio at the same time it didn't make sense to have two small cars especially if we were to take trips. Well to hell with that I guess

Major props goes to Mini of Birmingham for treating my wife like royalty, giving us a good deal on both vehicles, and of course making the process as easy as could be although it was quite a bit painful in the wallet.3 Mini's in 6 months But as long as the wife is happy I don't care. I guess this makes a great upcoming anniversary present on the 14th.

Specs on the new Coupe S are:
White Silver paint
Lounge Leather Satellite Gray
Cold Weather pkg
Premium pkg
JCW pkg
Black Light housings
Sport Stripes
Xenon Lights
HK sound system
Bluetooth
Anyway here are a few pics.

Nice ride, maybe should have held off on the Cabrio got the Countrymen and the went for a roadster and then you would have had the best of everything.

Yetti96 the country man only had 7500 miles I think. It is cosmic blue with black interior. Black wheels, HK sound system, Premium Pkg and 6sp manual. I cant remember what else it had but it was not a loaded car. It had zero damage or issues. Mini of Birmingham might have it up on their web site. Ask for Craig as he should know all about it.

Where did you find her????

It seems you have a great wife. She not only likes you but she likes Mini's as well. She got the car she wanted and that is a good thing.

Great story. I could see my girlfriend doing the same with a Roadster if she didn't have two kids.

Your wife sounds like a wonderful women and she knows a quality auto when she sees one.

The coupe is way better than the countryman!

You won't believe this but the same thing happened to me. My wife had a 2011 Countryman she bought in August and went to have routine maintenance done in January. Came home with a JCW coupe. Almost scary how close these stories are. She got hers at Knoxville Mini. They are a great dealer as well.

Great story! The Coupe and Countryman are apples and oranges in comparison but then again I own a JCW Coupe and LOVE it! Honestly I wish my wife would trade in the Minivan for a Countryman. Especially a certain JCW version.......for the WRC......built by PRODRIVE!!

Congrats on your new family member!

Man I would be pissed at my wife if she did that. Then I couldn't go do an impulse buy on another car. :]

LOL wow that is crazy because my wife almost bought the JCW car they had on the lot and it was the same color as the one you have pictured there. Crazy Crazy

Thanks and Yes you are right, there is no comparison. Also we will get better MPG versus the CM. Also in case you guys didn't know the countryman has a smaller gas tank than all the other mini's by at least 2 gal. I don't know why mini thought that a bigger, less aerodynamic car would need a smaller gas tank?

Well since my wife has had her impulse buy I get to have mine later in the year. I will either trade or sell my 09 Nissan GTR and upgrade to a 2012 or 2013.

She deserves it especially since she has had to put up with me all these years

What an expensive story. I hope my wife doesn't get any crazy ideas.

Thanks for nothing. (Just kidding.)

Congratulations.

That's the 3rd story about someone owning an almost new Countryman trading for a Coupe. The 3rd person was/is in Colorado I think, he only had 2500 miles on it. Personally I never cared for the Countryman. Taller, wider, longer, heavier. Good for your wife getting that Coupe. Did the dealer give you a halfway decent tradein? My wife wants me to get one too.

Sounds like the green light to me. What are you waiting for? Run don't walk she may change her mind.

I just may do it. Gotta wait for my bonus from JP Morgan though. It's pretty skinny this year too.

Yes they did give us a decent trade in and they discounted the coupe also.
