R58 Passenger legroom

Passenger legroom
Anyone else notice there is a hard foam footrest under the floor mat on the passenger side, that restricts legroom by about 4"?
My co-pilot is 5'10" and complained about this. Today was able to remove it (has 2 foam prongs and is glued down with rubber cement). A strong yank released it - I'll replace w/velcro so footrest can be added if necessary. Should make the co-pilot happier!
PS: the R59 also has this footrest.

Sorry to necro the thread but here is the official reason:
The footrest is there to encourage the passenger to have his or her knees bent to help control the body's motion that may create injury risks in the event of an accident. This is due to the unique windshield angle and lower header height of these models.
In addition, Coupes and Roadsters have a different glovebox design as well to control body motion.

My wife actually likes it with the "booster" in place. We have a hardtop, as well and there without it she doesn't feel quite as comfortable. She's 5'7" and whether in heels or not the booster works for her ... at least for now. So, I took the booster out and made it optional by replacing the glue with Velcro.

I went searching for this thread so I could add in that I had to pull my foot rest out tonight so that my weathertech mats would fit.
Anyone else get these and find themselves a bit annoyed that they aren't a bit "deeper" in terms of how far they wrap up the sides? Maybe 1/4" at the shallowest point. The whole point of weathertech mats has always been that they are fitted and hold a decent amount of water (from melted snow or whatever).

I've heard numerous complaints about the WeatherTech mats. I stayed with the Mini rubber mats. I really expected more from WeatherTech. I've had a few of their mats without issue, but the version for the Mini seems to have missed the mark. When I was researching the WeatherTech mats their site did have an option for the coupe ... with and without booster.

Now that the mats have been installed for a bit I think they are fantastic. I had an friend who's drink tipped over and a good 16oz of soda pooled on the mat - no big deal! It made me curious as I hosed it off and when i rinsed the driver's off it held more water than it seems like it would.
There were a couple spots where it initially didn't hug the sides which have relaxed, they now fit like a glove.
