Base Coupe Anyone?

Has anyone picked up a base Coupe? If so, let us know your thoughts.
Thinking about getting one to replace my Clubman and want to hear some feedback from owners. All posts that I have read so far seem to be for the S or JCW versions.

Let's hear from the Justa owners!

I have had a base coupe since November. Also have a 2009 base MC. I like the MC base better. I am even thinking of selling the coupe. Differences are: Transmission shift points are different, steering is different, average MPG 36.6 is the same on both cars. The 09 MC is more fun to drive due to shift points and steering.

Justas FTW

I thought the only people on this board were busy modifying their JCW coupes.

We were in for service for our other Mini back in November, dealer had a Coupe in the showroom, we drove it and placed the order that week. It arrived the first week in February.

Ours is a blue/silver Justa, cloth seats (our 2002 and 2003 Coopers had leatherette which cracked, so we decided to go with cloth this time.)
Automatic, sport package, heated seats and bluetooth/ipod were the only options.

It's only been a few weeks of motoring time, but really love it so far.
A very different experience from our other Mini's, more enclosed and encapsulated.

MUCH firmer ride than our older models.

If you haven't driven one, you must! You'll know right away if it's the best Mini for you.

My father-in-law just took delivery of his Justa Coupe and he LOVES it! He got a lot of goodies on it (mini connected, hids, etc.) so it feels like any other copper inside.

He did not want/need a turbo version so its cool that Mini offers all the options of higher models on the base line as well - of course you pay for those customizations, but thats part of the fun of owning one. I haven't gotten a ride yet so it will be interesting to see how it feels compared to my JCW hardtop (besides being SLOW.. JK).

I like my Justa just fine. I came from an 2006 Justa Cooper. Feels much more refined than the 1st gen MINI. Plenty of get up and go for the normal driving I do. If you look at the production spreadsheet for the folks on this forum there are very few Justas, that's very true.

I also think a justa Cooper is just fine but not mated to an automatic. It's almost a sec slower to 60 and takes all the fun out of owning a small displacement car and more specifically a Mini.

Very interesting. Looks like I may go with a MC Justa as I do not think I can quite afford the Coupe with the higher interest rate. If the MC is more fun to drive, that would also be a factor for me.

We bought a Justa, and we LOVE it. It gets great gas mileage, is faster starting off than you think. We are getting ready to take all the black pieces off from around the bottom(wheelwells, rocker panels, front and rear dams) and have them painted gloss black. I can't wait, I have see 1 coupe and 1 cooper done this way it is very sharp looking! Now granted the next coupe I buy will be a JCW, but for now I am in love my Lil' Guy!!

I've had my Justa Coupe, my first MINI, now about a week and a half. My commute is only 10 miles full of stop signs and traffic lights, and I am still having trouble obeying speed limits, so yeah, the Justa is Justa fine for me. I do find I like sport mode better though. I probably would have gone with the hardtop, but the financing deal on the coupes in March when I ordered it sealed the deal ( I believe it is still in effect). It makes a boring commute fun!
