R58 Problem Choosing S or JCW
#26
You made a great choice for you.
When a person wants excellent performance and handling and does not want to modify their car it makes very good sense to get the JCW and just drive and enjoy it. All of what you need is done at the factory and under full warranty.
If you think it sounds good now, Just wait until you get at around 15,000 miles and you will really love the sound.
You can sell the tires that came on your JCW and put the money toward a set of Michelin Pilot Sport all seasons and a slime kit.
I live in Florida so I went for the Michelin Exalta PE'2 summer tires and like them a lot.
I do have the Sport Suspension and like it a whole lot. It was my only option when I bought my car. I added the strut bar and driving lights after I bought my car.
I'm sure you will learn to love your JCW.

i will definitely post some pics soon.
been real busy just going to work and driving the car as much as possible when i can.
1 more thing to add about JCW vs S.
Breaks.
Not that S breaks were bad, but JCW breaks (obviously) seem very... precise.
It breaks EXACTLY the way i want it to break.

have you decided on which one to get yet?
even though originally i wanted JCW for its red roof, i ended up choosing the Black roof. I was afraid i may get sick of the red color after a year or two.

Looks great!
For me it was the look of the JCW vs. the MCS, better wheels (at $0), and better brakes. The extra hp is a bonus. I never mod my MINIs, so what I buy is what I drive. I bought my Coupe to be more of a show car than a racecar, since I still have my R50. Having the JCW version of the Coupe gives it much more street cred among the cars I show it with.
