My dealer agreed to order a coupe for me the way I want it for a thousand under msrp. Do you all think that's a fair deal or should I be able to do better?
Many MINI dealerships don't give many discounts. If you are looking for a $5,000 discount ,etc. then a MINI isn't the car haha So I think that is a good deal. Hey look at it this way, it is $1,000 still in your pocket - much better than $0.
I'd pull the trigger on that deal... I did manage to get a $750 discount on my order, but it was for the Take Down Test Drive sponsored by Mini... and I thought the upgraded stereo is worth it since I did order it.
Is the upgraded stereo that much better then the base?
The standard stereo just falls short on frequency response & clarity when pushed with much volume.
If you are serious audiophile who is into slammin' bass at ear-splitting volume, you won't be happy with either stereo, so save your pennies for that custom install.
But the H/K is s very nice upgrade over stock, so you can listen relatively loud to most styles of music & I think 90% of people will be pleased. (I listen to mostly classic/hard rock- Sirius lineup is 80's on 8, Classic Rewind, Boneyard, Hair Nation, Blue Collar & Raw Dog comedy. Just so you know from whence I come.)

Most people agree it's worth it if you listen to a lot of music. If you're like my wife and rarely do skip it. If you're like me and use an iPod constanly get it. If you're into custom gear and have the money skip it.
I also have the 750 test drive takedown but they won't accept it on an order because I won't have possession of the car before it expires. The dealer is willing to give me 500 off msrp + the 750 take down coupon if I have one transferred from another local dealer but cannot find one that fits me.
Years ago I used to sell cars to make a living. I was taught that the buyer is getting a good deal when they feel like they are getting a good deal. A good deal at one dealership might be better or worse at another. If you are not sure then call around with the specs of your order and see what other dealers are willing to offer. Then when you feel like you are getting a good deal, pull the trigger and you will have no regrets.
Need more help guys! I can't decide whether to go with the S or justa? I drive 23,000 miles a year and don't want costly repairs down the road. I know the justa is more reliable but the S keeps calling me like the devil tapping me on the shoulder.

Personally, I like the S over the justa... knowing the S is there if and when I need it... and I will need it.
I'll put in the good word for the Justa. I am completely happy with mine. I don't drive a whole lot, but I do a fairly even mix of highway and town driving. Mileage has been about 33-34 avg. I don't drive like a crazy person. Plenty of merging and passing power for me.
So I basically decided to get a justa that's on the dealer lot and was told the 750 test drive take down credit cannot be applied to this car because it's registered as a demo. It only has 40 miles on it! Is is bs?
Well I found one at another local dealer and they told me I would still get 1300 of Msrp plus the 750! I will know Tuesday after they speak to them. I'm a little bummed not getting turbo but I need this car to go 100 miles a day with minimal issues so I feel it's the best choice at this time.
Well I have done did it! I will pick up my silver/white justa coupe tomorrow. It has the cold weather package and hk radio which was a must for me.
Nice!
I too was torn over the Justa vs the S, but I am very happy with my Justa. I do admit I do use sport mode though on highway driving. Either way I still look down and I am going way too fast!
