Now She is Broken In

Afternoon All,
After doing a lot of forum lurking and knowing that my Domino is a brand new '13 R58 JCW, (1500 miles on her now) what kind of mods would you recommend? (warranty/no warranty)

Here's my understanding: No amount of bolt ons will give you any appreciable HP/TQ until they come out with a reliable flash for our N18 engines. Until then, the general word I'm hearing is "wait" until the flash is proven before you even think about bolt ons and such.

Don't get me wrong, love the look of my car but always looking for more giddy up if possible. Of course, I love to hear about suspension but with Maryland/DC roads being what they are, I am going to hold off on lowering the car for awhile.

By getting your input, I can price things out, save my pennies and gear up over gradually over the near future.

Only done minor mods here (exterior cosmetics), but from what I can gather, a better/stiffer sway bar is the easiest and most cost effective "performance/handling" mod.

Congrats! While you wait for Alta to crack the ECU and bring out a new AP, here are a few ideas: FMIC Intercooler
NM Charge/Discharge Pipes
NM Short Shift Kit (Assuming 6MT)
NM Alpha Springs
Koni Yellows
Better Rubber? Michelin Pilot Super Sports

My understanding is the Coupe already rotates very well, having the largest rear sway bar Mini provides. Not sure if an upgraded sway bar makes sense?

I am all stock and I track my MINI pretty hard. OK 9/10ths most of the time. I have hit the wall as far as times with the stock susupension. The trade of between streetable and track car can be a fine line. Unless I go sway bar she is gooing around the Ridge about as fast as she can go. I can run with set up track MINI's but I have to work a whole lot harder and I am using way more track. Set up for the track the MINI will stay pretty flat even going in way to hot. Stock suspension still has a lot of body roll you have to deal with. She rotates pretty fast. My wife drives the car sometimes and I do not want it to quick. Been in a 2009 MINI Challange Race car and it can get pretty quick. All good full until someone inexperienced lifts when you should be steering with the throttle. Who says you can't drift a MINI.
