Intake?

I'm sure there are many posts in here about which cold air intake to get, but there are simply too many to sort through. Which ones do you guys live and die by?

It seems the AFE Power intake gives the most HP for the dollar, but that's if it can be believed. haha

Intakes on the turbo cars don't make HP we have tested them all and many actually loose torque. So if you want the sound just go with a cheap intake. If you want power save your money and get a Forge Intercooler. An intercooler cools the air after the turbo so you will see real gains in it.

Wow. This is my first car with a turbo so forgive my ignorance. So pretty much any air intake will do? I also plan on getting a Forge BOV and getting this http://www.nm-eng.com/288/0/0/2444/n...arge-pipe.html.

It sounds like I should just forget about getting an air intake to begin with.

Running the ECS Tuning CF intake for some time in the R58 JCW and I like it and we have the numbers linked.

I really like it in the engine bay also, looks like it should be there.

Some people will get a special tune ( on a stock set up ) which can get you more HP per dollar then any intake. So in the end its play with the ECU or bolt on.

NM has some great intake hoses as well as some other products. Congrats on the R58 , I love mine.

As Waylen said; intakes are useless if you haven't tuned for it, and have shown to lose low end torque.

No intake on the market will net you the "advertised 8-12 HP" no matter of color, filter element, steel box, plastic box, functional scoop or not. Period.

You'll be better off spending the money on suspension mods, an intercooler, exhaust, good tires, etc. All of these will provide guaranteed gains in their own respect.

Advantages of aftermarket airboxes:
Cleanable filter
Cleans up the engine bay
Added engine noise

Yeah skip the intake, save for an intercooler as the first mod.

if you actually have the noise maker don't get the NM air charge pipe, we can save you about $100 for our pipe that does the same thing, just much cheaper.
