Good price for a 2015 Mini Cooper Coupe JCW?
Hi All,
Resigning myself to getting a coupe I need to finance (if I so decide) (prefer paying cash but I could only afford $15k max) I think I will keep it forever based on my test drive of a 2012 (previously wrecked, unknown to me) JCW coupe. Initially I was planning on reselling whatever I buy next year when I get a Tesla Model 3 (or whenever it comes out) but, depending on trade in value and how much fun I am having, I might just get a second car (or not get the Tesla... who knows!).
So, I will finance... if the right deal comes along. I think I found it since it has every bell and whistle and if I plan on keeping the car forever... I have found (please don't take from me if you find it too, as I am almost ready to make a decision) a 2015 Mini Cooper Coupe JCW with LOW mileage for $26k. Is this a good price?). I feel like I should be able to get it for a few thousand less, or so. I can go back to them once to negotiate more, I think. So based on your experience, is this a good price? This car has all the bells and whistles, from what I can tell. Except maybe the seats could be upgraded. Maybe. Seems in perfect condition, never been services according to its records on Carfax because mileage is that low. Was a dealer vehicle/manufacturer.

The JCW is far better for interior trim and overall performance than the standard S and the manual transmission is a better choice.
If so, I would go for what seems a good deal for mostly a new car that needs to be driven before the warranty will expire.

Assuming everything goes OK with credit check (I'm a small business owner and these things I've learned are tricky in my first 3 years of business, sigh), then the car should be mine. I'll be putting a nice chunk down and flying there to pick it up ASAP. Will let you guys know more details once everything is near finalized.
If I gave you guys the VIN or last 7 of VIN, could you pull up the original build/msrp? This dealership doesn't have that pic, but they say MSRP in their advertisement this car was $41,000 or something. I'd just be curious to dig up as much info possible before I sign the dotted line. Never bought a car sight unseen before from a dealership in another state.
Carfax says never been titled, from VIN.

Update from dealer, apparently this car was used by a Mini Technician, or more, to learn on? It was owned by corporate by a mini technician and that's why it has so few miles on it. The dealership isn't sure the exact history of the car but "had to disclose this."
Is this cause for worry?
Edit to add: In the process of buying right now... just learning more about the car.

It is a good deal for a car as exclusive as the JCW Coupe. Check for dents, paint chips and have them fixed.
The seats seem to be the Recaro with no adjustable head rest. They look great but uncomfortable.

Furthermore, you are lucky it is a MT because it suits the car's character so much better than the A/T.

Where is it coming from?
Anyway, if it is a real factory JCW Coupe with 2K, you are not going wrong.

Congratulations for your purchase. Don't worry, the break in is done.
The best is you are among the few lucky owners of a JCW Coupe with a M/T. You will enjoy.
I suggest you invest in a good radar detector and not a cheap one. Believe me, this is an investment that will save you a lot of money. The Coupe is a cop grabber.

Will update with pics when I get a chance! I got home last night and so far only thing I notice are bugs. So I'm trying to figure out how best to clean my car myself. Never taking this baby into a car wash shop. It was an amazing drive from Alabama to Texas. Sometimes I was amazed I was doing, well let's just say it didn't feel like three digits. Also thought I would be slightly annoyed with a manual but for the long drive it wasn't bad at all, in fact it was fun! Also kept me awake, considering I made the decision to buy Thursday and bought a bus ticket to there that night, with little sleep arrived yesterday morning, and home last night 10:15pm. Twists and turns, plus highway weaving in and out and learning how to look in blind spots. Trying to figure out how to get my phone music to play through the speakers... but I listened to radio all the way so that was fine. The real test is how I like manual driving in this city.
Anyway, overall all I think I got a good deal. At this point depending on city driving I might just find the excuse to hold onto this car for a loong time. Thanks for being there with me guys! Pics to come soon, once the cleaning is figured out.
