R59 Color is Key!

Sorrry but I would go with the reef blue if it was offered in a coupe color or I would have taken Royal Gray like my current Mini but since that isn't on the table it's a mute point. Have you considered the BRG?
NY Yankee something to keep in mind with what ever color you choose is you can have your dealer do after market strips or even some sort of wraps and add it as a dealer options. Some people get hung up on just what the configuration can offer but most Dealerships have a outside vinyl person or they use Mini Motoring Graphics http://www.minimotoringgraphics.com/index.php. Just something to keep in mind , good luck with your choice.

I have an R56, but had the same dilemna. I, like you, love the dark blue. I got a fantastic deal on my 2010 MCS, but the dark blue (either lightning blue, hyper blue or indi blue as its changed over the years) was not available and I kick myself for not purchasing my mini when this color was around. I'd go with your favorite, as this isn't exactly a car you just keep for a short while and move on to the next. Many have kept their MINIs for 5 years+ so I'd say enjoy it.
Sooooo...my vote, Lightning Blue w/ silver stripes...and black star bullet wheels form the sport package to really make her stand out.

I thank you for your opinion. I really was hoping the reef blue was just a little lighter, its almost black and there is no contrast with the black trim. They have that real nice gray color for mini's but not for this or I would of jumped on that. My luck they will make it next year. Think of it the gray with silver stripes. So I guess I'm leaning lightning blue.

I still like Spice Orange (my dilemma will be between Lightning/Silver Strips or Spice/Black Strips). Spice has good contrast with black stripes and chrome plus it has some "pop". Also a more unique color than blue. Still wish it was a little less Burnt Orange.
Can't decide if I like the Star Bullet wheels or not (have seen in person from a distance). Flat black is a little turn off but it does match the "ugly" wheel wells. I have never been a big black wheel person and and the Star's are not all black and have good Silver outline/contrast. Plus they would be SUPER easy to clean, especially compared to the Challenge.

Very nice, but you see, the pictures on the mini site are not even close to what the real car looks like. BUT YOU WILL BE HAPPY.

I do like that blue - if we hadn't gone with Chili Red I think that would have been my next pick (assuming my wife was still steering us away from BRG).
And those side-skirts look great, darn it. This pic reminds me how much I like those. Really may have to look into adding them. I have a buddy who could probably paint them, wonder how hard installation would be...

Well my most recent vehicle was a solid black F-250 King Ranch Diesel. So after several years of trying to keep that beast clean in Colorado, Black was definitely out.
Whites and Silvers are nice, easy to keep clean, but seem so common and don't really have any fun to them.
Red is great! But unfortunately every red vehicle I have owned I have had an accident in. I have owned 15 vehicles over the years, 2 were Red and both were wrecked in accidents involving another motorist not paying attention and hitting me from the rear while stopped. For me Red is out!
Spice Orange is a fun color, looks sharp, but I think it has limited appeal and may be a fad color.
So my JCW which finished production today is Lightning Blue with Silver sport Stripes. I think it will really be a head turner.

My first MINI was Chili Red/Black wiht Balck ad Red interior. I thought it looked really sharp. The untimely deathi is picturedin my signature. I replaced the car with a black 2004 Chrysler Crossfire with 28,000 miles. I always liked them and this was an opportunity to own one.
For my MINI replacement, I am planning a black JCW pretty loaded outwith the excepton o dfNIMI Connected & Nav which does not impress me too much in m my wife's Countryman.
Color is such a sujectyive decon and shold be thought our. Mainly buy way make you happy and doun't worry about what others are thinking.
