Yep, I've noticed this same issue. I just ended up leaving the wind screen in place all the time to help diffuse the lights of the vehicles behind. If I had it to do all over again, I would eliminate the auto-dimming mirror from my options list.
This has also led me to mount my V1 high and to the left of the RVM (rather than below it) as a matter of routine to ensure optical light-of-sight is maintained both fore and aft with the spoiler deployed. Seems to work fine in that location.
Sorry...getting a bit off-topic in this "pictures" thread again...
I haven't had the problem, but I also have the auto-dimming side mirrors. Perhaps they are all connected, and one instance of bright light hitting a mirror dims all of them?
Well, having owned several Mini's, the last two being S models...the grill on the base Roadster had to go. I added an S grill. The top portion fit perfectly. The lower chrome trim required some work with a Dremel...but it now looks awesome....
What are your plans for the chrome grille you removed?

Yeah, that sounds about right. Lots of dislike for chrome around these parts. While I can't say MINI takes much care in the quality of their chrome bits, I don't share the popular disdain for brightwork.
^You would be surprised how many people with an "S" want the Cooper Slat grille.
I special ordered my 2006 Cooper S w the chrome slat grill.* Had to order the exterior chrome package, which comes w/ the chrome sideviews, but I hate the chrome sideviews and was able to talk the dealership into swapping them out for free. But that was back in the day when we could make the dealership jump through hoops.
Beautiful! Love that you kept the bright wheel. Hope you don't have plans on them going black too.
Not for another 10,000 miles. I drive a 150 miles a day. Can't just throw out tires. I just got the run flats to work after adding the splitter. But after that thinking about these. Just not sure what they are other then OZ racing.

Those are beautiful wheels...O.Z. Superturismo LM.
