As for the Pepper White, me too. I wasn't a fan earlier on I saw a JCW in Pepper White. On my guy, I thi k the two sized up tires, and wheels really changed his personality. He just looks mean to me, but the again I'm a bit prejudiced.

Yes, that's it. Kind of wish that it had more placement options, but I like it. No holes.

I have to say it looks great, but I like being a rebel and not installing the front plate. Of course, if I ever DO drive my MINI into NY (God forbid), I will have to install the plate.

I was going to drill the bumper and install my Irish Plate I bought that says BLCKWIDOW, but I just couldn't do it. My hands would start to shake when I brought the drill to the bumper.

That is a pretty nice photo of the Platypus Bill. Have a full res version I could use on our website? Nice job with Lil Raggi!

Hey Bill,

Lil Raggi is looking great...

Tell us about your tire and wheel combination.

Are you planning a GP diffuser?

Love those seats...

Wow, those seats look amazing, WolfsBane! I have been eyeing a Roadster myself for some time now (especially since I took my wife to a MINI dealership and had her standing there enthralled by the MINI Roadster -- never expected her to react so positively to the car).

However, I keep going back and forth on the seats. I love the Championship leather seats with that awesome red piping, but I just worry about how "livable" they are in top-down driving since they are black and, well, leather. I live in Florida and the thought of top-down driving in the Florida sun with black leather seats makes me cringe just a teensy bit. What has your experience been this summer so far?

They are actually not too bad in the sun. The leather has more breathability than the leatherettes, IMO. I like the feel. But in honesty, I love cool weather, so I tend to bring the top up, and turn on the air when it gets too hot. Personally, I think the humidity in Florida is more of a factor. But, pretty much any surface that you use close to your skin in the sun is going to feel "off" the first few times. But you will get used to it. People have been ridding leather saddles and wearing leather dusters in the sun for centuries.

Thanks for the input, Wolfsbane. Still undecided, but leaning more towards the leather seats now that before.

Silly question but do they make temporary seat covers for when you're not in the car and the car is in the sun, that are easily tucked away?

I don't think that's a silly question at all. I'm a big fan of the Morgan (http://www.morgan-motor.co.uk/#) and they have a tonneau you can use to cover up the passenger side if you are driving by yourself or leave covering the back seat. Then put over the car when you get out. It be great if MINI could come up with something like that. (and yes I know you can put up the top, but the tonneau is very quick to engage.)

Tonneau covers are neat but since none are currently available for our Roadsters, try folding the seats forward when you get out.

Good Point - But it's good to dream. After all - a couple of large garbage bags would also work, and they'd be waterproof - but where's the fun in that!

We just got ours at the Mini Dealer this last Saturday . . . 3.5 long painful hours of waiting games on and off ... but that was washed away with 320 miles trip and 7.5 hrs of top down driving

. . . oh and I almost forgot to mentioned . . . the first sun burns ...

So here it is:

I like it! the Kite Blue is much better "in the flesh" than it looks on the confgurator. Also, another brave soul with a super-light interior! Looks fabulous, but I wouldn't dare. I'd be paranoid taking it for our state inspection where the guy at the gas station in the greasy overalls even LOOKS at it!!

Thanks folks!

The blue was my wife's choice and I wasn't too sure but surely love having colors going around. I was a bit uncertain but as you said, Spiney, it's actually a great color in person and outside!

Ha ha, Yeah I know what you mean . . . but light interiors are so worth-it. Plus I have black leather on our other car and it gets pretty hot. Since this is a roadster I see it as helping reflecting some of the heat... Now that you put it that way I might get some seat cover for the "inspection days"

The good thing is that it's actually not as light as I thought it would be and in a way that was a good surprise.
