Just bought my new 2013 Midnight Black Metallic Roadster, The Black Dahlia. Samur, the "add-on" guy at the dealership talked to me about adding stripes. I couldn't come up with a pleasing combination until Samur said the only thing he would add to my Roadster would be Black Carbon Fiber stripes with Silver pin-stripe accents. Whaaa?? He took me back to the shop where they were striping a red Countryman with Carbon Fiber. Wow! It looked AND felt great! That's right, it's actual woven Carbon Fiber with depth and texture. I couldn't really imagine it on Black Dahlia, but Samur was so sure I just said, "Go for it!". Just got it back from the tint and detail shop and Man, am I pleased with the new look! I had driven it a couple of weeks sans stripes but the Carbon Fiber and Pin-stripes bring the look to a whole new dimension. It's hard to tell in my pics, but the Carbon Fiber actually has a velvety glow in certain sunlight angles and is awesome at nights in certain lights. Near any neon? Dang!! I'm totally pleased with the combo and with the window tint, heck, I'm stylin! What do you all think?

We are moving back to Pinellas County in June 2014. My wife (55) is retiring, but the old guy (57) will commute by air to DC about 3 days per week/3 weeks per month for about 3 years. I'm not ready to give up my law practice yet.
We will be staying at the Barefoot Beach Resort in Indian Shores (near Seminole) between October 12th and October 26th. We're meeting with our realtor, scoping out area neighborhoods for houses, and getting a little sun time on the Gulf.
We love the area between Clearwater and St. Pete. We're looking for a house within 5 minutes or so from the beach.
Dave
P.S. I chose the screen name "tampadave" because of my great affection for the Tampa Bay area. Looking forward to my return.

Another distinguished-looking gentleman with gray hair behind the wheel of a hot Roadster. Looks like MINI found it's niche in the demographic spectrum.
I can't wait for my '14 Roadster to arrive next month.

That's not gray hair, it's platinum blonde and I'm only 28. By the way, my keyboard keeps rendering a two when I press the six key.

Excellent! I'll work on my keyboard to get the same result. Just turned 57 and I can't believe it - I still feel like I'm 20 (thank God!).

Scarlett had her Xpel Clear Bra installed last week. Looks great. You barely notice it's there, and I mean, you really have to look close and hard to see the border line. The installer had her sitting in the Sun for most of the day after installation checking for micro bubbles and other things. Was really surprised at how malleable the film is at about 120 degrees F. Really relieved to finally have the protection up front.

It's all about timing . . .
. . . Well, two weeks of ownership and tonight I just noticed this... the first paint ship
I must admit I'm a little disappointing the MINI paint isn't a little stronger. My other car is 8 years old and the paint is of really good quality! I'm not saying there isn't paint ships but never all the way through, to the aluminum...
It's a bit far back on the hood (sorry the bonnet). I don't think a front clear bra would have helped unless it would have been a full hood coverage...
I just washed the car and it's going to get it's first waxing tonight. May that will help a little...
