I'm curious about Roadster performance in snow. We are hit and miss in Northern Virginia, but Fairfax County's plowing prowess is well below average, if non-existent at times.
Hi Gil,
How do you like driving your roadster in the snow? Does the severely raked windshield effect your driving at all?
Thanks for your time!
Danny
Danny,
I'm here in Iowa as well, but in the middle of the state rather than up in the North country like Gary is. My previous Mini was a JCW and all I did was change to winter tires. Getting around was no problem. Snow in excess of 7" makes a bit of a snow plow out of it, but otherwise no problem. With the Roadster, I originally thought the windshield angle would cause me problems, as it did when sitting in a coupe, but to my surprise, you get use to it very quickly. No problems, plus with that angle, not as many squashed bugs. They slide right thru.
Here is the latest pictures I took after the new wheels + summer tires were mounted. I had also installed new chrome inserts on the front (and back) to complete the look.
I was in the rush I took the picture before putting the top down . . . oh well I'll take more inspiring photograph with a real camera an other time . . .
Thank you all!
We love this MINI and it has truly been a blast driving it thuse far

I enjoy doing some modifications but I typically stay on the, hmmm how to word it, unique and elegant side of things.

We had to have a color on this car . My other car is black and since I take very good care of it, it's beautiful, but we wanting something on the happy side and still tasteful. MINI has some nice colors that are more tasteful than the few other brands who don't hesitate offering bolder colors.

If we get our Roadsters together with TG, we'll need to do another remake of "The Italian Job". Not sure where we'd store the gold we stole, but sure would be fun driving through some tunnels backwards!

Sorry for the delay in responding. Wrapping up a 10-day adventure with our MINI club in and around Great Smoky Mtn Nat'l Park. As you can imagine, I've been a bit distracted...
I have dedicated wheels with Blizzaks that I run from Thanksgiving until the 1st day of Spring. I've never had a problem in the snow. In fact, I feel like I can go where some 4-wheel drive vehicles cannot. The tires make a huge difference.
The windshield rake is no problem at all. My Light-in-Sight helps a lot.

Yes yes, that would be awesome . . . thank you for this . . .
@chosmister: sweet ride! yes an other person with light interior seats. To enjoy life is to take risk
We love our MINI yours. Light interior are definitely worth it even if a little scary to think about it

Thanks, TG!! I am in LOVE with this interior. So damn sexy. Best option on my car, next to H/K sound. Every time I take a seat, I am pretty much like..."damn!"
Btw, thought that you guys would get a kick out of these! (Pun intended.)
