During our adventures last week, my service indicator came on for my first "scheduled" oil change (following two prior DIY oil changes). Since we had planned to drop in on MINI of Greenville (SC), I asked them if they could work me into their schedule. To their credit, they got me right in and completed the work within 90 min. Kudos to their entire service department.
Though I must say, the centerlined JCW exhaust and GP2 rear diffuser on my Justa Roadster really threw them for a loop.

Hey, got a Roadster S early this summer to accompany our Countryman All 4 S. I already have some Blizzaks for the winter from a Clubman we used to have. Since we have 2 other vehicles it was time for a fun car! Hopefully next summer we can throw some nicer rims and maybe make it a little faster. After a nice summer it now has 12,000 miles on it, been to 15 different states, and looking forward to leaving my truck parked for all but the worst winter days!

Wow, a two MINI family even though you have an eight-hours each way drive to Motorwerks. I think that is deserving of some sort of special enthusiasts recognition award.

LOL, thanks! We do a lot of driving and wanted good gas mileage, but hate your typical economy chevy's, ford's, and especially Toyotas. Anything else and we have to drive forever to get it, or buy used. We have actually had a total of 4 different Mini's since we have been here for the last 4 years!
The first one was a used one we bought locally. After a test drive I was hooked. It was a 2006 Cooper S We loved it so much, but my wife didn't like driving it everyday as it was impractical for our weekly grocery shopping and with shuttling our big dogs around. Then we went to Minneapolis to get it serviced after a year and traded in for the Clubman S. It was bigger so our friends could comfortably ride with us and had enough room for shopping/dogs. But with a 30 mile one way trip to work each day it was a little sketchy in the winter up here during storms. So the next year we went to get it serviced we traded it for a Countryman S ALL4. Great practical car and does OUTSTANDING in snow, but I missed the faster feeling and better handling of the little Mini's. So after a year we went to get that serviced and bought the Roadster S. I still have my 2500 Chevy for the worst winter weather and whenever we need to haul stuff and got this as a 3rd car. Only using the truck when needed just the gas it saves pays it's own bill! LOL. Other than that though we drive the Mini's everyday to work and save miles on the truck for when it's actually needed as a truck! We just make sure to get each one to a dealer at least once a year for a checkup and stuff we want Mini to do and then pay for own oil changes and small maintenance stuff that pops up at local shops.

I know that you have beeb waiting a while, and very patiently. Now go grab that car and drive it like you stole it!
You may want to consider just going to the dealership and actually stealing it. Then you can live a figurative metaphor quite literally

My dealership experience at pick-up at MINI of Sterling:
The staff at MINI of Sterling were largely ignorant of dealing with USAA. Although I understand they're an approved USAA dealer, I had to direct them to the website to show them the $1,000 USAA rebate. They supposedly had to confirm it via a 'MINI bulletin" before applying the rebate.
Their chief finance manager didn't know how to process the USAA EFT paperwork for an electronic funds transfer within 24 hours.Once i got home, a USAA rep and I tried to connect a 3-way conversation with the finance guy, but no one ever picked up the phone over a 45 minute period. Finally, the USAA rep managed to get his voice-mail, left a detailed instructional message, and faxed the form for processing the EFT. I tried explaining everything to the finance manager in person this morning, but he claimed USAA did not utilize the EFT process. He had me sign a 'hold contract' with MINI financing, giving me 5 business days to hand over a USAA check. Hopefully, he'll process it correctly so I don't have to physically return to the dealership to process it.
Note: the USAA Federal Savings Bank rep wrote a detailed message directly to higher-ups at USAA's main office to advise them that MINI of Sterling was not very "USAA member friendly" as to (1) the $1,000 rebate and (2) processing the USAA-funded loan. I'll be curious to see what, if anything, happens. I know that USAA takes these things seriously from past experience.
By the way, USAA funded my loan at a 1.75% fixed rate (including automatic payment withdrawal). You cannot use MINI Financial Services if you accept the USAA $1,000 rebate on a Roadster or Coupe purchase. Turns out USAA beat MINI's financing rate anyway and I got the $1,000 USAA rebate plus an additional $500 from the dealership on my '14 model order.
This post is largely for the benefit of USAA members looking at a MINI purchase, particularly if they're in the Washington, DC metro area.
