For sure. But, as pointed out in the thread about the MY changeover, it comes with the risk of MINI deciding not to update the Roadster for the F5x generation.

I saw 9 to 15 Roadsters at MIMI's ON TOP this weekend...

There is a Coupe and a roadster within 2 miles from my home . Husband ( coupe) and wife (roadster)team .... Both bought from my dealer and from my MA within the same week.... Both are pw base models... Met the husband while getting a coffee.... Took pic.... Will try to take a pic of all three together....since they are my neighbors, shouldn't be hard to organize...

MINI's ON TOP (MOT) organizers stated there where 309 MINI's of all types at the Loon Mtn. Lot in Lincoln New Hampshire on Saturday morning.

I saw 8 roadsters in the lot...



First a JCW Roadster from the Boston area.



From left to right, Red with Black Stripes Roadster S from New Hampshire, My buggy, British Racing Green Roadster S from the Boston Area and a Blue with Silver Stripes Roadster S from New Hampshire.



Red with Silver Stripes Roadster S from New Hampshire (5 days old) and a Blue with Black Stripes Roadster S from New Jersey

So that makes 7.... Wait for it...



In all on Saturday a saw a total of I'm guessing 12 roadsters scattered around the mountains.

This guy deserves a Lucky Dog Award.........



He had to take his R56 to the dealer for repairs on Friday morning.

He asked if his car would be ready for MINI's ON TOP and the dealer said no take this car..............

So here he is with his Dad in a 2013 Red with Black Stripes Roadster S.

From Massachusetts. I bet he put over 300 miles on that car..

Oh Yea if you are worried about fitting in a Roadster or any MINI for that fact.

This Kid was 6' 7" tall and he said it fit like a glove.....

 

That's awesome. I saw a comment on an article about the roadster where a dude was claiming that anyone over 5'10" would never fit in it...

Thanks for posting the great pictures of Minis on Top, Andy. I wasn't able to make it up there as I had a family commitment, but I would love to do it next year.

How was the experience? Would you do it again?

 

Anne and I had a blast at MINI's ON TOP...

Her brother and wife took "Jack" our Spiced Orange Clubman.

We met a lot of very nice folks, had good food and got to see some great MINI's. Not one the same.

I've never done this type of event before and I had a great time.

Finally saw another roadster on the way from Boise to Salt Lake City. It was a white one. I flashed my lights and waved, but I don't think they saw me.

 

I've flashed my light and waived but you have to keep in mind that not all MINI drivers are enthusiasts. I've had some people look at me like I'm nuts.

 

I haven't seen another Roadster around the Wichita, KS. area but then again they may be hiding. There is a coupe that lives less than a mile from me and that may be the only one of those also.

 

This past week we've been from Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, North Carolina to South Carolina and NO ROADSTERS. A few convertibles, but no roadsters. Actually, not many Minis at all. Even I. The resort area of Charleston. Interesting!

If you sign up for the Minis in the Mountains event in August, you should see plenty!

 

Better yet - go to Mini's on the Mack and help break the world record!

It's a real shame we won't have the car yet or I might have been tempted for a first trip! It would have been really feasible for us to come from western PA

Go to your dealer, tell them you want to "borrow" one of the cars they give out when they are working on yours. Or suggest a long-ish test drive. Or, better yet, tell them why you want one - they may do something for you.

I'll be driving mine from Portland, OR to Missoula, MT in August. Can't wait! I still haven't seen any other Roadsters in my area (Portland). Just 2 coupes.

 

Mine is the only one I've seen.
