R59 Project Nighthawk

Got the Porsche RS door pulls installed today. It's really not as scary as it looks in the first pic - the door cards go on and off very easily.. Getting the door cable back on isn't easy the first time due to the lack of space but once I knew what I was doing it was fine..
They look really good I think - the holes in the backing plate allow the mood lighting to show through..

Wow, that's the most radical MINI mod I've ever seen. Moving the steering wheel to the right side of the vehicle must have been a nightmare...or did MINI make a serious mistake when they built yours?

The LED side indicators can be purchased here: http://www.newministuff.com/new/shop...ctshow&id=1046
Originally I painted all the parts myself but they chipped so easily from stones that I had to replace them with genuine MINI parts..

Yesterday we were back at Brands Hatch for the MINI Challenge, only snapped a few of our MINIs when most people had left as I was too busy concentrating on the action on the track!
Nighthawk is currently staying at the garage as the solenoid valve oil leak has been discovered, along with several other issues being looked at..

Nighthawk is 7 months old - having done 10,000 miles.
Nothing too important but here's a list of the issues and the progress so far:
Computer predicting early first service - this has been confirmed and not a problem.
Front brake pads were due for replacement in 3,000 miles and rear pads in 6,000 miles.. Sensor failure but brake mileage hasn't increased by much, garage are confused by this.
Solenoid oil leak (PUMA) - Fixed
Bonnet so hot it billows steam in the rain - Confirmed this 2013 model didn't have the heat insulation, looking into solution before paint damage occurs due to intense heat.
Bi-xenon lights pointing too high? - Confirmed mis-aligned in factory
Bad rattle from rear roof area, the engineer had never heard anything like it in a roadster - Unresolved
Bad rattle from top left of windscreen - Unresolved

Just a little update on Nighthawk.. You can also read about my French MINI Adventure here.
I recently changed to Michelin Pilot Sport 3 tyres which are one of the highest rated tyres in Europe. I have to say ditching the runflats is one of the best mods I've ever done - the cornering is now atonishing while the ride is still firm but no longer back breaking
I've also fitted LED MINI Logo puddle lights
More to follow..

I'm curious though. What made you choose the PS3 over the PSS?
Since I've tried the PSS on my other car I've fallen in love with those tires despite its price . . . It's so bad I just got a set for the MINI
And yes . . . where did you get the puddle light?

Sorry for the delay in replying. Thanks for the comments
Firstly the puddle lights can be purchased from here:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3807057110...84.m1439.l2649 They are plug and play
TG - I've not tried the PS range before so wanted to try out the PS3s before going the whole hog. Needless to say they are brilliant and I'll be going for the PSS next time

After this conversation I felt compelled to look into it...
From what I could read those tires are both quite performing tires. The PSS as an edge on dry grip while the PS2 as an edge on wear and wet grip. So all in all the PS2 stays quite a smart choice for most. Although I love the PSS and when I push the car I can feel the difference, I don't think I'll be using its full performance very often
