R59 Oil Change?

I changed the oil for the first time yesterday on Ginger and had a heck of a time getting the oil filter out. At first I couldn't find it and then noticed it was buried under a couple of hoses. I was able to move the coolant reservoir and get to it, but is there an easier way doing it? Is it just better to remove the reservoir?

You have to remove the screw for your coolant expansion tank and move it out of your way. Then with your oil filter socket, remove the filter housing. When reinstalling the filter housing, use your hands only and be sure to get it screwed in correctly before using any tools to torque it on.

I did that, but it was still pretty tight. I guess that's the best way to do it.

Yes its tight. I called Way and he said it is the same as the N14 motor. Also asked if getting a Forge coolant tank would help. He said he didn't think it would.

The coolant tank is in the way, remove that one screw and lift/move it out of the way enough to get your filter wrench in there. I b_tched about this (to myself) again last weekend when I changed the oil in mine.

Nice that it's so accessible towards the top of the engine; a PITA that the coolant tank had to go there, blocking it. I used a bungee last time to hold the tank out of the way just enough, it didn't want to stay put.
