Very happy you're O.K. I was studying your photos and can't help but ask about the divider between the cabin and the boot. It appears to me pushed into the cabin space. How fast was the other person going when they hit you?
Getting rear ended sucks. Happened to me last year in June, almost killed me, still healing today. 4 months and 4 days after that my wife was rear ended, two totaled vehicles, one mangled person, and neither person that hit us really had much in the way of insurance. Thank god I did, although I could have had more. And do now.
Happy that your ok, that's all the really matters. Everything else is second.
I was driving a 2005 Nissan Frontier. It was an elderly man, almost 90 that hit me, he clipped me on the left rear and flipped me sideways which would normally be ok, but we were going up a steep grade. My drivers side front wheel couldn't take the stress of the side ways slide uphill, and me fighting to bring the rear end around, and broke apart, rim from the spokes. Then naturally the front end went down, dug in, and the truck cartwheeled nose over tail twice before landing on the drivers side and my left arm, my head hit the ground too. Still have the arm, and it pretty much works after lots of surgery and a couple hundred thousand dollars. All in all, a very lucky guy to still be here. Here is a quick pic. This believe it or not, is the good side.
I was drive home from work on the interstate. Traffic stopped in front of me, but guy behind me did not see. I was sitting there for about a minute. When I got ready to take back off *BAMM* :-/...I'm sure he was going around 60ish...can't believe the damage wasn't worse. MINI's are TOUGH little cars!
@Mr.T...Coop and I are in the repair stage and of COURSE this takes forever. I didn't get coop back until last week...ALMOST A MONTH.. and the repairs were WRONG! This is the most annoying process ever. Not to mention the settlement with the Insurance company etc. Joy! But I'm just glad to be back in my baby, and not rentals. (Though I'm grateful for them).
Glad to hear that you and Coop are on the mend. I know how frustrating insurance claims can be especially when dealing with someone else's insurance company. Glad you're O.K.
Just yesterday I had a lady almost back over me with her gigantic SUV. I was sitting in my parking space at hte end by myself and had to lay on the horn for around 5 seconds before she registered it. Stupid chick was on her phone.
