R59 Ringing the changes...

Looking great! I know it's been a long time and not sure if you still have this car anymore. However, if you do, I was wondering if you could shed some light on the long-term durability of those rally lights. I'm thinking of getting a pair of black LED lights but a Mini Service Advisor told me that the mounting brackets are not the strongest thing in the world.
Have you had any problems with the brackets?

Thank you for the quick feedback! I'm still leaning towards the MINI Lights mainly because of their relatively clean look. Not really a fan of many of the "In Your Face" aftermarket lights that others offer.

The LED allows a nice shallow lamp, instead of the "bowl" shape that most normal halogens have.

Well, this is it. My time as a Roadster owner is done. We moved across the big ocean, and so I sold the Roadster as shipping it was out of the question, realistically. I have loved this car for 8 years, more than I've ever owned any other car. I'll hang out here to help others for as long as I can stand it. Thanks to everyone here for all their help, especially in the early days when we were all learning.

Sorry to hear this, did it go to anyone on here or in the MINI club? Good luck on the new adventure and hopefully you can get one over there.
I really still like my R58 and would pick up a R59 JCW if i can find one local. I wanted one in kite blue.

A lady who's active in one of the local clubs in the NE has it. She's posting up a storm on FB with it so I think she likes it too! Thanks for all of your help over the years, that car had a lot off stuff from you on it at the end (DRLs, LED lamps, diffuser, engine undertray, chrome scoop and boot handle, English Oak dash parts, Ziza bulbs, and probably a lot more that I've forgotten). Not sure what to do over here. I'll be work-from-home full time, and the village for shops and necessities is walking distance so we'll only really need one car. I'm about to start looking for a high-spec late model R55 S or JCW I think. We have a 2008 R55 Cooper here now that we've had for a few years to use on extended trips over (6 months at a time for the last two or three years) and we had a 2012 R55 Cooper in the US. I'd like to get something newer but the F54 is a lot bigger and I'm not sure my wife would enjoy it on narrow roads and even narrower parking spaces. The R55 is just about perfect for us, but we'll see.

R59 are really quite good value here in the uk.

We are in the UK now, but we really only need one car over here as I'm work from home and the village has all that we need for day-to-day, so we're in a Clubman we bought when we came back for a few months in 2017/2018, and used when we were here in 2019. My wife is apprehensive of going back to manual on the proper side of the road after 25 years in automatics on the wrong side, so I'll be looking for a late R55 auto at some point this year, I expect. I doubt that I'll end up with another Roadster as a second car, but if my job changes who know...
