Glovebox Tidy

Picked up the Glovebox Tidy from GoMiniGo. Having an extra shelf in the box is quite nice, and it fits very well.

Nice. When my CMS gets here I may have to invest in one.....but I'll have to change it's name to Glovebox Junky since I'm not known for a very tidy glove box.

I was just going to ask the same question.

I was going to ask the exact same question. I didn't even know they existed until I uploaded the picture and was about to post it. I've been trying to think of all the cool things I could put there.

Flashlight. I may have a good fit for that location (I am a dealer for a couple brands) - I'll let you know as soon as the new model comes in.

How about a pen or a tire pressure gauge?

Sure, that too. If you can find the right diameter. (about 17mm, I think)

My initial thought was tire pressure guage. A pen would be cool, would be nice to not have those banging around.

Climate control the glove box.

Did you know the round item on the left is an adjustable vent to heat or cool the glovebox. It is amazing what a person can learn by reading the manual . .

yes, the manual . . . I have one somewhere

So, I tested one of the lights I have here (Fenix LD15), and it fits great! It's about 17mm diameter, and 80mm long, and uses a single AA battery to power it - lots of light. Any similar sized light should work (Quark, Olight, etc), possibly up to 19mm diameter.

And what are those brackets to the left for (one just above the vent and the other next to the USB port)?

Will the manual case fit in either of the spaces? If so, can you upload a picture?

I took a pic of the manual in both places.

Bottom:

Top:

I don't recommend putting it in the top (and neither does GoMiniGo) as the manual is too big for the glovebox. In the upper position, it shifts up when you close the door and is just kind of awkward.

Thank you. I like it on the bottom. That goes a long way to convince me to buy one. Is the top shelf covered with fabric, rubber, or something?

Got my glove box tidy a few days ago. Seems a little flimsy, but does what its supposed to do. I think it make the glove box much more useful.

I still wonder about those clips in the back of the glovebox. MINI must have had a specific purpose in mind when they put those in.

Considering this is MINI, the specific purpose of those clips may have been to generate conversation about what the heck those clips are for...

Mission accomplished.

Given that BMW sells a small LED flashlight that is very similar to the one I found fits great, I have to vote again for flashlight.

The clips are for the small BMW LED flashlight:

I have the same clips underneath the cover of the glovebox on my BMW R1200RT. They actually fit on a Mini MagLite, so save some money and pass on the BMW model.

Ok. Flashlights makes sense as something you would want to keep in a glove box.

Still it would make more sense if the clips in the MINI glove box were for a MINI flashlight. I did a quick search and came up empty on that one. I'm surprised that MINI doesn't sell a flashlight to go into their flashlight holder. Not that I'd buy one anyway.

I guess "Mini" maglite it is then.

Mini Maglite is cheap, but doesn't put out much light. Fenix LD15 or similar quality is MUCH better! I'm pretty sure that only the AAA powered Maglites would fit, so we're talking a max of about 30 lumens in an LED model (2XAAA), or 2.3 lumens in the solitaire.

LD15 - 117 lumens.

If you open your glove box and to the top left side of the glove box door there is also a set of clips there also. I keep my tire gauge there

Those clips are on the back wall of my glove box to the right, not on the door.
Do you have a Countryman?
