knock sensor - codes P13B8 & 2D8E
I just had the half engine light and CEL come on following a short drive. The codes scanned as P13B8 (Knock sensor, electrical: Signal input 'B', short circuit to ground) and 2D8E. From what I can tell, it could be the knock sensor, the wiring, or the DME. Does anyone know of a test that I could do that would confirm the problem?

I had completely forgot about this post until I got a PM from smokeysevin asking about it.
I found that my entire air intake system was rattling significantly. My Countryman is a base model. I made sure everything was properly tightened. I don't know if this was what caused the problem, but the code has not returned since.

I am bringing this post back from the dead since my half engine light and CEL came back on today with the same codes. I thought back to each time the problem has come up and there is one common denominator. Each time was immediately following a very heavy rain. I suspect that water is getting into the harness somewhere and triggering the problem. I have moved the car to the garage and will take it back out when things dry up. More to follow.
