Chrome Trim Peeling after 7-days
#251
I owned a couple of 350zs before getting my first Mini, love the car. Not sure about the 370z, it feels heavier than the 350z, might be a good thing. Enjoy!

Best wishes on your new ride!

I have had the rear replaced twice so far. Today I notice all trim on left side of car is peeling or shortened and see the glue area. What a pain in the a$$ to argue with the dealer to order the trim and then drive 100 miles each way to get this fixed. I really like Mini but this will be my last Mini. Wife will not be happy to hear her Mini Convertible is not gong to be ordered but I can't keep driving that far for these ridiculous problems.

you know its a real shame mini decided to try this new trim vs their tried and true trim that they use on all their other vehicles with 0 failures.
to what exstent does cost reduction have to go before its gone to far.
im sure the customers they will loose just because of something as small and silly as trim will cost more than that of any savings they made!
im in a constant battle with my company on a daily basis with cost reduction and the bean counters and engineers just dont see it and its cost to the company in the long run. i understand that its nessisary sometimes but their not doing a very good job!
now MINI is not the only ones with really bad problems as porsche and Mercedes and smart all have had failures on their poly carb roofs with crazing and a very large percentage! imagine how upset youed be spending close to 100 grand and to find constant failures on your roofs!
it was a bad move on MINI's part to go with this route for the trim and hopefully they remidy the issue or they may have a class action to deal with!

I have been added to the list of Countryman that have been fixed...
The dealer replaced every single piece of trim. I had them blacked out for the last several months and must say I prefer it black, so off to the store I go... at least I know that its not a mess underneath..
Also had the car reprogrammed because of the stumbling on acceleration some people are having. Lets hope my Mini doesn't see a dealer for a long long time....

Y'all thought this thread was dead, didn't you?
Had what they would replace replaced back in October. Washed the CM over the weekend and the passenger side corner piece has disconnected from my MINI. Sort of like a transplant that's being rejected. May have to take it the rest of the way off to keep from losing it until I can get it back to the dealership.

Well...thanks for the heads up. I had Linus in for the trusty thermostat issue a couple of weeks ago and the dealer replaced the single peeling trim piece I had without even being asked. I'm still keeping an eye out for the other's to follow suit but had hoped I at least had one that would stay in tack. Guess not...
