Fuel System Issues!

Fuel System Issues!
My wife's Countryman S is now going to be back in the shop for the 3rd time. We are having lots of issues with the fuel system.
1. The car stopped, died, and wouldn't start. 4500 miles. It had to be towed in. We were told it was an issue withe the fuel rail. After pressing for specifics, the sensor in the fuel rail had failed and the car couldn't deliver fuel properly. Sensor replaced after 9 days, car returned.
2. The car stopped, died, and wouldn't start. 4700 miles. Towed in. We were told the fuel gauge was wrong and although it showed 2 bars, it was actually empty. A part was replaced and car returned after 5 days.
3. The car is running, but the fuel gauge remains at full. 4800 miles. The computer still shows full range, too. The car will again be taken to the dealer for repair.
I know fuel rail issues are common, but this many repeated issues? Anyone else having multiple issues? At what point is enough really enough? This is getting ridiculous!

ok, the part they put on for the fuel light at 4500 miles didn't fix anything, this is an unfortunate problem in the programming, and mini is working on a fix. just don't run it down to the 2 bars again. They probably installed a fuel level sensor, and may have gotten it stuck in the full position. They need to fix that, but the fuel gauge reading 2 bars is your true problem, and they can't do anything about that yet. When the update comes out, ill post a thread to let everyone know.

You're not alone
You're not alone man. My mini was in 3 times as well for the same EXACT problems. The first time it died with a bar on the guage and had to be towed (dealership over 2.5 hours away) they said it was a fuel rail issue and 15 days later they replaced the high speed fuel pump. 3 days after I got it back, it died again with 4 bars on the gauge and they ended up replacing the fuel gauge sensor that time. The third time it died with about 2/3 of a tank on the gauge (and a different dealership said the key, gauge, and computer all had different readings) they replaced the fuel gauge again.
Now I am afraid to drive the thing outside of town. I live in rural America and being stranded like that in BFE is not fun (and here in the South it's also rather hot!) I put in a complain to Mini corporate and the message I just got back in return was, basically, tough!

I have a white countryman with approx 9000 miles on it. I just got it back yesterday from the dealership. They replaced the fuel rail sensors and the injectors. I get in the car today and the engine light comes on again and the car won't stay running. I live 200 miles from the dealership. They will have to flatbed my car back to the dealership and I'll be without my car for another week. Any suggestions on what the problem might be?

I'd have them specifically check the high-speed fuel pump as that seemed to be the source of the original issue with my car. With my new pump I've been good so far but I've got another 4000 miles or so to put on it to get it to the point where the last pump failed.
Hopefully your experience will be better than mine!

saoc: now make them check your fuel level guages and things. When they replaced my high speed fuel pump they messed up my sending unit and it had to be replaced. (Also make sure they get the float in the tank installed correctly!!)
DneprDave: the first time my problem happened I was low, VERY low in fact, but I never had run out of fuel UNTIL this problem and the car told me I had 10 miles left.
