Radio changing channel randomly

I'm listening to Satellite Radio using my presets.

I park the car and go into a store for a bit.

When I start the car, the satellite radio plays for 1-2 secs and then the radio switches to some random FM radio station. Different station each time (hard rock one time, Latino the next). New stations are not in my presets.

Weird, huh?

Any ideas?

Brian

It sounds like you need to flash the firmware.
Try taking it back to the shop and asking them to do it (should be fairly simple... IF you know how [each model has a different method!])

Yep, I've run into this a few times. Do you have MINI Connected? The screen seems to indicate it reboots when this happens.

Yes, I have mini connected with NAV. Been waiting for resolution with the dealership on the NAV maps. They loaded 3-4 year old maps. Ugh!

Zaftig seems to be fond of country. On occasion, he'll switch the radio to FM 98.7 (WMZQ). As long as he doesn't get carried away, I let him have his fun.

Buster hasn't made up his mind. It is always a different station, he must know Spanish as well as English.

I have 2 variations on this problem on a 2012. I have the standard stereo; not the HK and I do not have MINI connect or any other technophile gear that would either break or lose functionality over time.

Variation 1) XM radio changes channels to another preset ON ITS OWN while driving.

Variation 2) make a short trip in the car, turn off, turn back on, and now the XM radio is STUCK ON the Hits 100 station (help!!!) no matter what I do change stations or turn radio on/off. Var 2 does not resolve until I turn off the car again and remove the key.

I was thinking something a little more simple such as a stuck search button or something like that.
