Yellow Check Engine Light Stays On

The yellow check engine light stays on when I turn on the ignition (press the start/stop button WITHOUT depressing the brake. Can anyone tell me if that is normal? And why doesn't the light go out like the other lights? Thanks!

Just went through this. Says Engine is not at full power.
There is a recall on a temp sensor (Tstat) and they replaced it... Back to full power now.
You can still drive it, according to mini...at least in my case... But it fools the engine's computer to think the engine is overheating. Thus it starts to shut down thus not at full power. At least thats what I got out of it...

Hope this helps...

Hopefully yours won't be the same saga as mine ... On 11/8 I had the check engine light come on and had to have the coolant temp sensor replaced. On 12/2 the check engine light came on again and this time it was the fuel rail pressure sensor that needed replacing. This afternoon the check engine light is on again and the vehicle will be towed in to the dealer tomorrow. I'm very sick of this nonsense and am beginning to wish I'd bought something else.

Engine light came on, took it to autozone for code check and one didnt come up. Car has no loss of power, runs fine. Any ideas on what might be happening? Thanks Ted
