Chk Engine P098
Double posted by mistake, have no idea how to delete 🙄
Hey guys
So got home from work witch took me like 2 hours because of heavy traffic and when I turned off my car I noticed the fan was still on. It turned off maybe 5 minuts later.
The next day when I turn it on I get a Chk Enigine Light! 😡. Got a P098 Code saying it ether needs coolant, Bad Coolant Sensor or Bad Thermostat. I used the car yesterday all day with no problems execpt for the fan turning off 5 minutes later than the car. There is no indication the car is oveheating at all. And im really hoping its not the thermostat. Any wisdom/tips/solutions/ideas/help is very appreciated!
I Have a 2014 R60 S 51k Miles 🙄

Im waiting for the car to cool down, but when it was hot it was at the toped off line. I do not get hot air inside! Il get a reading once my OBD2 arrives from the mail.(I got the code from autozone)

I have been messing around with the Electrical System, (adding cables for a sub, cleaning the engine bay slightly) but nothing that would make me think would hurt it.
if it were just to be ether the thermostat or the sensor, is there anyway I can diagnose correctly?

the best way would be to look at live data. see how hot the coolant gets (if the sensor works fine that is). if you get crazy out or range number, then the sensor is out. hopefully you have the updated version where you can just put a new temp sensor and call it a day.
if the temps are reasonable and make sense, the thermostat should open at a specific range. I was measuring mine in C and it was 105C and never went above it. so, if yours pass that, then it is the thermostat.
