R60 ALL4 S steering wont self center

As per the title my partners 2010 Countryman all4 s has a problem where the steering wont self center. It makes it quite tiring on longer journeys as your always making adjustments to keep in pointing straight. Has anyone come across this problem before?

i have this problem right now, if it is in fact what you are describing.

When i am going straight, the wheel is slightly off center to the left, quite frustrating. I have a 2013 mcs

Not sure how to fix as i have gotten new tires and an alignment multiple times and still have the same issue. might need to remount steering wheel or something.

Hi sorry its a bit of a different issue. If i lets say turn the steering wheel 90 degrees. On a normal car as you start driving the steering wheel will turn and straighten itself.
My car does not. It will straighten slightly but the steering wheel will still be 10 degrees out and the car will keep turning until i manually turn the wheels straight. Its super annoying

check tie rods? i am not sure i havent heard of this issue before but it definitely has to do with the steering system or the suspension system.

Sorry you are experiencing this issue

Sounds like a possible alignment issue. Hit any pot holes recently?

the car has had a full geo/alignment and flagged no issues including the caster being fine.

It looks like I will have to get it back on the ramp and see if anything is seized

Thought i would close this thread as i forgot to and i was asked for the solution on a private message. My R60 was a very early production year and i carried out a software update on all modules using ista p. One of the updates was for the steering and it fixed all my issues. It also made the steering much better overall.
