Talking It’s that time of the year

Some sales are approaching this weekend, and I would like to get some maintenance items.

it seems like Detroit tuned offers the best timing chain kit; this is based on my research reading the posts of others though, what are your thoughts?
do they offer the best oil line upgrade?

I have also heard that catless downpipes are better for Turbo life/longevity? Is this true and do they cause CELs? (Staring down the barrel of a turbo replacement, I have already replaced the diverter valve)

Is there a place anybody would recommend for turbos and install kits? Not looking to tune or make power. More of a fan of “bulletproofing“

Finally… what’s on your list? Going to get new lights? Accessories? Wheels? Tools? (I realized as I am writing this, I should get tools )

I agree that we have the best timing kits out there. Best priced, most complete, and the cryo option to resist stretching that everyone has copied now! https://www.detroittuned.com/mini-n1...ermarket-iwis/

Cat-less down pipes are nice, but require a tune and not all cars in all states can run that. The cat will not cause the turbo to fail unless it's burning a lot of oil. Than at some point the cat will clog and cause back pressure. If it's burning oil and you go cat-less you going to get white smoke and smell they burnt oil smell at they time in the car. not ideal.

For turbos, we just recommend the stock turbos for the best longevity. https://www.detroittuned.com/mini-cooper-s-turbo/ at some point heat will make it's way into everything and you will get some oil leaks. we make a kit to fix that. https://www.detroittuned.com/detroit...ine-super-kit/ the best thing you can do after driving it hard or long freeway driving it to let they car idle for 30 seconds to a min to allow things to cool down. they oil is cooling thru the oil cooler, they coolant is cooling things in the radiator which are all going thru the turbo. there is a coolant pump that runs coolant thru it for 5 min. after you shut they car off to keep oil from burning on they inside. but they more you can help it, they better you will be. change you oil every 5K with they correct filter https://www.detroittuned.com/purflex...-filter-gen-2/ and do a coolant change every 2 years.

Hope that helps.
