REME April 9th Sacramento Delta Run

This is going to be a great run, with easy access from the entire bay area as well as Sacramento and the Central Valley! This will be a run that all four Northern California Mini & MINI clubs should consider attending.

Complete details will follow shortly on as developed, but the run route has been established and can be seen at http://redwoodempiremini.com/PDF/Sui...to%20Delta.pdf

We will meet at 4300 Central Place, Suisun City (in the culdesac in front of Scandia) at 10am. We are planning on leaving for the run by 10:20am. Be prompt or early if you want to chat with your old and new MINI friends.

The run will be about 110 miles round trip ending at Todd Park in Suisun City. Since we will arrive there around 4pm, those interested can stay awhile to chat and share a soda or snacks. Some of us may want to stay in the area for a pizza dinner. Stay tuned. The sign up link at http://minicooper.meetup.com/2/events.

Well good news is that the forecast is for nice weather on Saturday. I am looking forward to some sunshine after all the rain we have been getting. The route has been modified a little based upon reported road conditions. Based upon my current calculations the total length of the run (starting in Suisun City / Fairfield at Scandia) is 110 miles. Assuming we take around 1 hour and 15 minutes for lunch we will end up at Todd Park in Suisun City at 4pm.

If there is any interest, I would like to spend a little time at Todd park for maybe a little conversation, sodas and a snack and then meet up for a pizza dinner at a local pizza party afterwards. Perhaps those of you from the valley area may have suggestions. Please respond if there is interest in adding dinner to our festivities.

Please download a current map at http://redwoodempiremini.com/PDF/Sui...to%20Delta.pdf or you can pick up a copy on Sunday morning (a limited number of copies will be available).

Remember to bring your camera and 2-way radios set at 17-7 with fresh batteries.

Please email with any questions, comments, or recommendations. Thanks!

April 9th Recap

What a beautiful day and a well thought out run thanks to the hard work of PetaMINI and Howard.

The run was at a little slower pace than most of our runs in the past which gave us all plenty of time to see the beauty of the Sacramento Delta. Howard lead the group at the perfect pace based upon the scenery and road conditions. I can't wait to see all of PetaMINIs pictures!

We had lunch at a great little Mexican restaurant in Walnut Grove. I wish it were closer, because it was good enough to want to eat there weekly. The 4 ferry rides gave us a lot of time to rest and enjoy the beauty from the water.

All those who attended had a great time and are looking forward to a future variant of this run maybe next year.

I am also looking forward to future runs organized by PetaMINI and Howard. Rawls (PetaMINI) has planned our May 1st run through the Marin Headlands. This run should not be missed because it will include a lot of walking, views and a field trip into the Nike Base with a tour. This is a must for all of our photographers. More should be posted in all of the usual places shortly.

Howard is planning a run closer to the Sacramento-Fairfield area. More info and date should follow shortly.

Once again Glenn Weaver gets the "award" for the farthest traveled to get to the run. Glenn drives all the way from South Shore of Lake Tahoe to join us on our events!

Thanks guys for all your help and participation. It would not be a club without all the participation.
