Actually I was only partically bustin you. I do respect what you are doing with the MINI. I just think you have an abrasive online personality sometimes. Which is fine. Makes things more interesting!

I agree, Greg's like 30 grit online, and 1000 grit when you speak to him in person.

Note, everthing is still in primer as there is still more welding to do. All sorts of mounting tabs and whatnot.

So what's the lesson to be learned here? Only treat the surface with liquids? (as in wet-sanding?)

Larry, If you're talking about us, the answer is no. I spent the week on the left coast and wasn't home for the week-end. The next week will be spent in (hopefully) warmer weather we're I'll be sipping on some cold (diet?) drinks...

Greg, any chance she will be ready for Mid-Ohio this year ?

NASA and BMW-CCA and PCA all have multiple weekend events there

Really hope to at least be testing the car by early April.

Yesterday my engine managment man (yea Paul, this is you, whether you like it or not.. )went to check out the AiM Pista and I brought one home. Great price at $1640 if anyone is interested.
Paul and I laid out the wiring harness on my kitchen floor and started analizing just what we needed to save, what we needed to get rid of, and how much I may have already distroyed it. Yea, I've already removed about 30 lbs of it. Seems the Pista needs only the two Bus wires to feed it most of the info I need. Paul has the dash with him and will get it up and running on his street mini first.
Anyway, that's whats up. Unfortunatly the 'girl' thing is getting in the way again...

I looked at these last season. They do seem to be a good price for what you get. I think the red/white MINI in USTCC driven by Vesko uses this system. He seemed to like it. He did have a throttle cable rigged up though, so I am not sure you can use a stock TB.

Vesko most likely was using an aftermarket stand alone ECU, hence the cable. He may have even been using the complete Motec system as that dash look very much the same as the AiM.
I won't have any issues with the factory setup, ..... I hope.

May have been. I keep kicking myself for not snapping photos of the interior/engine bay. He had some really good ideas (that I had not seen before) when it came to allowable set-up.

That must have been early in the season. It sure doesn't look that clean anymore .

He also has a different display now(aim, motec-ish).
