We indeed use the aim. We had the Strada last year. We`ll most likely upgrade to data acquisition (pista) next year.

I don`t know why more MINI owners don`t use it, even for the street. It`s a great set-up that allows you to tap in the BUS system of the car. If memory serves me right, there are up to 26 signals/inputs from the factory ecu you can tap into.

Greg, I`ll put your man in contact with mine when I`m back in town later this week.

Paul put about 6 hours today on the wireing harness.

Already more then 75% has been removed.

Lunch break

By the end of the day Paul was fading fast.. so was I.
Harness is still not done. More then half of what's left in this pick will go.

Paul got the Pista up and running in his S yesterday. Only four wires! Two for power and two for all the info it needs fed from the ECU via Bus wires. He will be running this in his car for a while to learn all it can do, and then try and teach me. Thanks Paul!

I finished up breaking down the entire wire harness also. Every component and plug has been separated and in it's own baggie. If any of you out there have an in with the all mighty then please say a prayer for me...

Just a couple of pics...

The car is looking awesome, Greg. You gotta be getting psyched. The wheel/tire combo looks sweet.
Nice hardwood floor.

Hey onasled,

I'm about to put an order in for some custom lips from Kodiak racing and just wanted to hear of what you thought about the finish on their polished lip? They ARE clearcoated right? Did you have any trouble with order time on your custom order? I have been hearing that for some its 2-3 weeks and for some it takes much longer.

Kodiak has unfortunately been known to take way to long. I made out OK, but I know others that haven't. Best thing to do is call and talk some straight up stuff with Darrel. I know that like carbon fiber, that aluminum has suffered that same obsession by Boeing and the Military, so it's been hard to obtain at times.
Polished rims are perfect. Don't know if they are clear coated. Wheel quality is as good as one can obtain in aluminum.

Ok What tyres are those on the rims. Those rims are awesome. But, I think they'll look funny with the color your thinking about. That hood sure doesn't look like carbon to me or is it still sitting in a box. Nice job !!!!!!!! Keep up the good work as usual.

Actually, I was going to ask if the hood was carbon. That's what it looks like to me.

Those are Yokahama race slicks. They have been sitting in thick ply black bags all winter, in my friggin parlor! I got them too soon as I did think the car would make it to the track last fall. They should still be OK.

That is a CF hood, but CF over glass really. I was in fact able to remove a ton of weight from both it and the CF rear hatch. Both are very light. I will be molding my CF doors shortly. Cloth is on it's way. I will also be molding flairs I think, and most likely my own simple style rocker panel covers. Lots to do and the cold snowy days make it go slow ..

Yes. I plan on doing a lot of aero work. If not this season, it will be next.

GP under panels or your own design? I'd venture your own.

Not alowed to make my own as most all classes do not permitt any aftermarket aero work under the car between the front and rear axels. Now the GP stuff may be another story.

Just that crappy hood and rear hatch that you can get off eBay. It's 90% fiberglass with a pretty layer of 2x2 twill carbon fiber exterior. After some work it is very light. I can toss it around easily with one hand. Been toying with the idea of making racing bodies to sell, but I won't know untill this late summer if that's something I want to do.
