05 mcs moving to DS??

Just read this, and it's very interesting. I've noticed a lot of confidence in MDS drivers that believe that the MCS will stay in GS, but after reading this, http://www.scca.org/garage/forum/for...547&PN=1&TPN=1 I'm not so sure. Any thoughts?

They SEB / SAC is going to make a recommendation to the BOD after solo nationals. If conditions are the same, and one of us beats the DS winning time expect to see just the 05 MCS moved. They can move the 05' MCS because it was classed within the last 12 months. The other MCS are safe for a class move for now.

Take a peek at who's registered at nationals 05 Minis in GS. You'll see a past multi time national champion, a bunch of very good drivers, and then people like me who fell of the solo face of the earth for years. I counted 22 GS 05 Minis registered. A Mini comes stock with very good shocks and can a win a trophy at a National tour event with nothing but a set of tires and some front toe out. Other cars aren't close to as good right out of the box and take special unobtanium shocks, crash bolts, etc. to be competitive. Now take a look at DS and the number of well prepped cars there with good drivers registered. Discuss.

See everybody in DS next year.

One guy in DS coming from my region is a VERY good driver. One of our best and we have many here.
Be glad that he is not in a Mini in GS for Nats.
He would have a GREAT shot at the win in either class.
Glen "Hurricane" Hernandez is F A S T.
Now that he is on 710's, I think that it is his year in DS.
Our top "GS" Mini people have been getting close to straight timing him though.

I agree there are some great drivers in DS. The sheer number of GS Mini's going to nationals can't do anything but help the chance of one or two beating DS. I hope GS works when DS runs.

He's my pick, or at least one of them along with a couple other guys in DS. Its all about who has their best 2 runs between Thurs/Fri so anything can happen, but, he's a great choice IMO.

Whether or not GS beats DS, well, thats somewhat course dependant and heat dependant. I'd be willing to wager a good amount that GS/DS will run the same heat to settle this score.

With all the quicker DS cars coming to the class this next year that are not present this year, I would think that if the MCS is close to DS or even, then they still may keep the 05 in GS since DS will be quicker for next year. So, I don't think we are absolutely doomed if we do beat DS.

So, with the above said, My goal at nats, is to beat DS. I always do better if I don't focus on any times coming in during my heat. I was actually thinking of wearing some ear plugs, but then again, I wouldn't be able to hear the engine, which I really enjoy. :-))

Craig, "the Tornado", Wilcox Bwahahahaha!!!!
