I took a quick peak and didn't see any mesh wheel...and no prices.
I'd like to be under 2K for wheels.

Thanks, that's an option and I've heard good things about KW. I will post pics when I get back from vacation.

They may have similar styles in smaller diameters. Btw, BBS does not have any wheels to fit the JCW yet. Doesn't sound like they are trying very hard, most likely due to the limited market.

You might try Fikse Wheels.....the JCW MINI race team has run Fikse wheels that are mesh design in 17" or 18"...very nice! They are not for specific fitment on the JCW either....they used them when they were running non-JCW brakes.

Try this: http://www.fikse.com/wheels/profil/

Gotcha, but I havn't been able to find similar styles in a smaller diameter, and I'm not concerned about BBS fitting a JCW cause I only have JCW interior and not brakes.

I'm liking the Fikse wheels but no price to me means prolly high $$$$. I'll research, but I have a feeling I'm looking at $850 + wheel which is not gonna happen.

Thanks for the suggestion! I'll look into them.

No mesh wheels, but they are very light. My set up in 18x8 with 225/40/18 Potenza RE71-R's are 8lbs/wheel and tire lighter than the stock 17x7 Cosmos spoke with runflats. As was mentioned that means a huge bit for unsprung weight etc. Also they clear the JCW brakes no problem! I am running KW V2 with custom spring rates, and I adore them!
They ran 250/ea

I think you will have a bit of trouble finding the classic mesh look in a modern wheel, as most manufacturers are going with the "spider web" look of thin or split vanes on their wheels in all sorts of contortions, and larger diameters. The NM Wheels are great looking wheels, but they are not "mesh" style...not many around these days, like they were in the old days. It must have something to do with the manufacturing process (more costly for mesh style)...and they "are" harder to clean! LOL!

Good luck!

Like everyone has said... there is not a lot to choose from relative to the 1st and 2nd Gen cars. My first choice that I searched high and low for were Rota RB wheels. But, the best info I've been able to find is they won't be made in 5X112 because the inherent design doesn't lend itself to a five bolt wheel. I finally settled on these Koenig Oversteer wheels in 17X8 et45. I have 215/45X17 Goodyear summer tires on them. The wheels are 5-6 pounds per wheel lighter than the Tentacle Spokes I had on the car. IIRC I paid ~$150 each for these wheels. If I weren't planning to upgrade the brakes I would be perfectly happy with these wheels. I like the looks and weight, and the price can't be beat.

That is exactly why I went TD. They are a pain in the *** to get and take forever, but I knew I was going JCW brakes and didn't want to have to run spacers on my summer set up. Plus if you search for the JCW for fitment most wheel companies don't even offer anything. It's all a crap shoot

So I think I've finally found some wheels.
They are the Niche Citrine M161 18X8 with a 42 offset (Pics when I figure out how).
So now my question is can I swing 8" wide without rubbing putting 215/40/18 tires on?
I spoke with a salesman at ECS an he said I shouldn't have a problem.
What do you guys think?

It really gets down to the design of the wheel & the tire. You are most likely going to be OK though as generally speaking an offset in the 40 to 45 range seems to be the ticket! Personally, if I go with an after market wheel for a second set of tires I will likely go with 18" x 7.5" ET 45 with as wide a tire as I can safely fit!
